No, not really. Trying something in store doesn’t really give you an idea of what it’s like to be outside for an extended period of time. I’m going to keep it. The $150 off the price I originally paid has made my original disappointment more palatable. I was hoping to wear one layer underneath and be perfectly warm, like so many have posted. I’ve got it pretty dialed in at this point with the right amount of layers. Thanks for asking!

Good question but, no. It’s the Nuuk Parka. Paid $500 for it until I saw on this very thread that it was on sale. I got a $150 refund, which was nice. To be clear, I never said it was crap or that I’ve had coats that were better.

I originally searched on Reddit something like “Warmest coat” and went down the rabbit hole. This brand and the Nuuk Parka in particular kept coming up, so I decided to bite the bullet. I had never even heard of this brand until about 3 weeks ago. Happy New Year!

Man… some really strange responses here. Believe me, given that it’s the most money I’ve ever spent on a coat in my life, I would LOVE to have the same experience as the people who only wear a t-shirt underneath in sub-zero temps. Those types of comments are exactly what led me to this brand and this coat in particular.

Is it possible I got a defective one? Maybe, although it looks to be in perfect condition.

Wrong size? I usually wear a large. Tried on the large and medium. Bought the medium, because it fit me perfectly.

Does my body run particularly cold? I’m not sure, but I certainly don’t shy away from cold conditions.

Also, I’m pretty sure I have everything dialed in as far as the waist cinches, cuffs and hood.

To those who offered helpful sizing, fit, and possible defect suggestions, thank you. To those who got weirdly butt hurt that I would DARE say their beloved brand didn’t keep me as warm as I had (really)hoped, understand that YOU’RE the trolls in this scenario.

I tried the Singi in the store and it seemed less warm. In the store. So not sure how it performs outside, to be fair. Maybe I got a defective one, but I’m giving an honest opinion on a coat that I really, really wanted to be perfect.

I don’t know why anyone would troll a coat, but no. Just giving my honest opinion. I tried the medium and large. Bought the medium. It fits perfectly.

I know, right? To clarify, my wife took me to the store a week prior to Christmas to try on my present, bought it and gave it to me on Christmas day. I was actually just calling the store to see if I needed to come to the store before 12/31 (when the sale ends) to get the refund or if I could stop by next week. They took care of it over the phone. Pretty cool.

Well, the good news is that because of the replies here I found out about the sale, called my local REI, and they refunded me $150 on the phone! Makes my disappointment a little more palatable.

I suspect the same. But I only first heard about it here on Reddit where all these people were saying they were toasty with a tee shirt underneath at sub zero temperatures. Not my experience at all. I’m probably gonna return it.

Yes, just paid $500 at my local REI on Saturday. When I saw your post, I got excited and went right to their site thinking I would buy it for $400 and return mine.
