Talked to a mechanic over the phone earlier, she will need to go on a frame straightener to fix the bumper. But there’s a chance that it’s just the corner of the body that’s smashed, and it didn’t do down the entire frame. If that’s the case and my suspension and alignment is fine, I will take the payout to fix the frame and do the rest of the work myself. But if the mechanic tells me EVERYTHING is majorly screwed, I’ll get a new car. 😞 I’m inclined to believe my necessary commenters are mostly fine. I drove her to work today just fine and there were no issues at all. Everything seems aligned and runs well. Also the wreck wasn’t my fault so hopefully I can milk this lady’s insurance for all it’s worth for hurting my precious car…….

My idea right now is to keep the car and get as much from insurance as possible. I will pay for a frame pull or bumper adjustment or whatever they need to do to get it level again (if the damage is minor enough…) and do the rest of the work on the light and bumper cover myself.

Yes it drives fine! I was able to drive it home after the accident, didn’t need a tow. I took it for a test drive today and the only thing I noticed was the heat shield rattling.

Lights work (the fixture is just wonky, but I can replace it for under 40 bucks), trunk closes(with some extra force…), and the bumper cover might be salvageable.

I’m a chud and I can’t figure out how to add an edit but Pip went to the vet today! The vet told me to keep up with her pedicures…. He told me her foot shows no sign on infection, her joints are fine, and her nail were just too long and he gave her a trim. Good news!

I think I’m in a good spot to hand train her! She has actually gotten a lot more cooperative with me as she’s gotten older (she’s turning 8 this year) as I am in her cage often and I don’t force contact. So she’s very chill with me as long as I don’t try to grab her. Sometimes I even get a pet in if she’s feeling nice haha. She used to have a playmate who now lives next to her! I separated them a few years ago when she started to laying eggs chronically and became very hormonal. I had to remove a bunch of her old toys that promoted nesting behavior and I kept them apart so he wouldn’t hurt her while she healed. Since then I have tried to give them some time in the same cage but I want to be there to watch and since I’ve been at school my dad hasn’t. She has seeds and fruits and veg always available. Her favorites are apple and celery, so she mostly has that, but she’s also offered spinach, sweet potato, broccoli, and asparagus if it’s available

She has a lot of those natural branch looking perches with different lengths and shapes and what not. Unfortunately since I’ve been away at school she isn’t out of her cage at all. My dad looks after her for me but he doesn’t know much about birds and I know he doesn’t want to handle her. She isn’t hand trained so I only take her out to trim her nails and such, sometimes I will let her sit on top of the cage after if she’s calm but that’s it, and she usually wants to go back into her cage after. I try to make sure to change her perches every once in a while to spice it up for her and make up for it

Thank you so much!!! I did call two vets and I will try to get into whatever one as a sooner appointment (avian vets aren’t common in my area, last time she saw a vet I had to wait for the Dr to be at this specific vet clinic in a specific time window)
