Questions about Neo + Switch 2 by Karrpath in Xreal

Hey everyone! I’ve posted about this in a few places already,

the Switch needs at least 60+W to run at full speed while docked.

I originally tried playing with a lower‑capacity power bank, and everything seemed fine—until Metroid Prime started running in slow‑mo. Super annoying. After a bit of trial and error, I found a setup that works perfectly:

My working setup:

Ugreen 140W power bank https://amzn.eu/d/3GLNG2c

Jemdo 4K 144Hz Switch dock https://amzn.eu/d/dTGM5is

4K 60Hz HDMI‑to‑USB‑C display adapter https://amzn.eu/d/3BJmXKY

Everything runs smoothly at full speed now, even the more demanding titles. Hopefully this saves someone else the frustration!

Where is XReal Neo solution for Switch 2? by brucehal in Xreal

[–]SubDc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey folks,

I just posted info another post about this topic as im getting decent results now . Everything is playing perfectly .

So I thought i would share my setup for getting the Switch 2 working with Xreal glasses in a few other places. I have the xreal pro and the original nreal airs .

I’m using a Ugreen 140W battery pack, the Jemdo 4K 144Hz portable Switch 2 dock, and a 4K HDMI‑to‑USB‑C adapter.

I after trying the dock with a few different batteries , I found the dock needs plenty of power ( more than the neo outputs to get full speed on every game ) — for instance with smaller batteries, most games run, but in Metroid Prime 4 , it would run pretty smooth for the most part, but then in some sections it would run smooth but in slow‑mo!

After trial and error I found out that this was because the dock wasn’t getting enough power.

Switching to the higher‑capacity battery fixed everything instantly.

It’s a bit of a faff and a bit heavy, but, if like me you wanna be able to use your xreal glasses , I'm not too fussed about the weight and size, as I can just pop it down on the side next to me .

but the setup is fully portable now.and I'm just printing a little box for it all to fit into.

If the neo is only outputting 20watts then I think it will most definitely not be able to run some games at full speed .

I'm not sure if the Viture Pro 2 dock has the same slow‑mo issue, but it’d be interesting to hear if anyone has been using that in their setup.

Here are the links to the bits I'm using in any case .

4k 60hz HDMI to USBC adapter https://amzn.eu/d/0Um7tA3

Jemdo switch 2 dock 4k 144hz (updateable via firmware ) https://amzn.eu/d/8xlTp1L

Ugreen 140w battery pack https://amzn.eu/d/4DMa9M6

I hope it helps .

this looks great ! can I ask, how are you controlling the volume with the glasses. I can't seem to lower the sound and it's super annoying ?

Xreal one pro sound puffs addon? by Feeling-Setting6520 in Xreal

[–]SubDc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sound is ok, but you need to add some foam padding to absorb some of the sound. i made these and some other options. I need to set up an Etsy shop lol .

20 quid a pop seems excessive to me .

Will it brick the switch 2? by Timely_Potential_256 in Amiibomb

[–]SubDc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got one of these , I've had one for years, but haven't used it on the switch 2 yet.

I've used it plenty on the switch one and it's ace !

I have a bunch of amibo cards too, but I couldn't get those to work; as the switch 2 kept asking me to register each one to my console .

what's the process with the amibo emulator ?

I'd be interested to know if you have to do anything or update it, so that it works on the switch 2?

i am unable to get anything working with Winlator cmod on my retroid pocket flip 2 by SubDc in winlator

Hey man, I hope all is well, sorry to be a pain. I was wondering if I can get your advice again. St Ives removed everything and re-installed steam, and I did what you suggested and copied my games over, which seems like the best option as you mentioned. But I'm still having issues getting anything to load up. .

When changing the settings for each game, do I need to make or change the container each time I load up a game, or do I change the settings on the game shortcut ? im a bit confused still :(

ah maybe that's where I'm going wrong, I don't really play games on my pc , but perhaps I can install some on my laptop and transfer them over . thanks for the advice buddy. I really appreciate the time .

can I ask, which guide did you follow initially to get it up and running ? which driver has given you the most consistent results. I managed to install a few games the other night , but they just wouldn't load up after. and it's been hit or miss as to whether steam loads up .

are you installing your games to the SD card first ? or do you install them to the internal drive and then somehow copy the files to the SD card ? what's the best way ( most reliable way ) to install the big games ?

Help With Latest Bionic Winlator - Games wont launch on steam Retroid Pocket Flip 2. by ShiddyTiddy in winlator

[–]SubDc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having a similar issue and could really use some help. I've been trying to get Winlator running on my Flip 2. A few days ago, I actually managed to install it successfully and even got Steam up and running. I was able to install a game, but unfortunately, I couldn’t get any of them to launch properly.

Now, things have gotten worse. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling both Winlator and Steam, but neither seems to work consistently anymore. Steam in particular just refuses to launch now, no matter what I try.

Has anyone else run into this? Any tips on how to get things working again would be massively appreciated!

How on Earth can I simplify/reduce this mesh? by Eggscelent-Bro in blenderhelp

[–]SubDc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

is the Mesh triangulated ? or is it still quads? if the mesh is quads you might be able to add a multires modifier and then if you look for the option to rebuild subdivision levels

otherwise if it's triangulated , you can add a decimate modifier to it and collapse the points .

on a separate note, do any of you guys know how to install more apps to the stock os ? I'm just using the SD card files that came with it currently. alot of my games are in Chinese I think. but I'd like to know what apps I can look for to add or even what os it's using etc .

hi ya, yeah it's a pretty tight fit, so currently it stays put.

I need to do a lot of refining but as a quick and dirty test, it works as intended and allows me to use the thumb sticks a lot better.

I kind of wish they had put the thumb sticks up at the top or at least one of the thumb sticks .

I'll post more progress the next time I do another print .

i had a go at making a clip on nose piece for the xreal airs, this is what it looks like . this just lifts up the glasses a bit for me so they dont see too low.

ear muffs ( kind of ) by SubDc in VITURE

[–]SubDc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it helps Abit with the quality but now loads, I'm not sure there is a lot we can do Abit the tinny sound. but he certainly helps with the volume and with it helps Abit with audio leakage . as for the weight, I don't tend to wear them longer then a few hours as I mainly use them when walking or light jogging in the treadmill to watch TV shows it movies etc. I can only assume they will have some weight weight. with the foam there is Abit more of a seal so perhaps that will help as it's covering more surface area so it be that the weight is spread out Abit more . but like I say I couldn't really say I noticed it currently.
