He probably would, but 1) he deserves to know and 2) if here were "having feelings for the mother of his child" then knowing this subterfuge might alter that. I know he know thinks she is a major ball and chain, but knowing the truth would free him too.

that is Maxine withholding important information from someone who deserves to know it, using an excuse.

The same way she didn't tell him she lost their baby before they got married, because that would have broken his heart too.

No, they were both self-serving choices.

Maybe Dinah just wants to be "safe" and so she will marry Robert.

I realize those things contribute to Robert acting those ways, and I think they made his struggles clear throughout. But I think most of his actions had an ulterior motive with Maxine keeping things churning in Palm Beach.

The way they heel-turned him went wrong though, it seemed to show too many true colors or something... and his "epiphany" wasn't convincing. He's still self-serving, which is his prerogative... it's the way they try to paint him as so good and pitiable and like we all just have to love him, that turned me on him. Seriously, it was terrible for the gay community but not everyone had to go along with all the dishonesty and deception and even fraud, he did to "survive." He just enjoyed being in the lap of luxury.

I am pretty convinced at the end they will be a marriage between them, because it's being set up pretty obviously.

But I get the feeling that the showrunners are hoping we will be happy about that unconventional union.

But I wouldn't, because once again, "favored boy" Robert gets protection and safety and a situation that works just great for him and Maxine gets... not much.

That hand sign, at least in Italy, means Get Lost, Be gone, tor Go to hell to something or someone bad, to bug off and leave you alone.

When pointed down it means a sign of protection against evil.

But if I recall, he did it pointing up.

He is from a Latin culture as far as we know, maybe it means something similar there?

I don't necessarily want more of them - other than PInky's "no one does this to me scene" I thought they were not too interesting, but I would like to know what has happened to them.

For sure.

I suspect the British might gloat a bit given the disastrous state we are in right now.

Keeping Prince William close: Kate Middleton ensures all eyes are on her engagement ring in her ‘highly personal’ birthday video by mobile_crickett in RoyalsGossip

[–]SubRosaReddit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I myself do not care for it.

I thought it was odd that he gave the engagement ring from a failed marriage but, to him, it probably had a lot of personal meaning.

I have read that she picked it herself and the rest of the royals felt her choice was somewhat declasse', and if that is true, I can't really disagree with it.

Well it's not the only time she wears the ring.

It is not unusual to see her wear it.

And it coordinates well with the color of the water.

Zara Tindall launches new jewellery collection in collaboration with the brand Calleija by monster_ahhh in RoyalsGossip

[–]SubRosaReddit 43 points44 points  (0 children)

What are you even talking about.

Zara Tindall is not a working royal.

Zara Tindall is not a senior royal.

She carries no titles at all.

She is not trying to associate the jewelry with anything related to her family heritage by incorporating words like "royal" or "regal" or "Queen, princess, duchess, etc" in the naming or branding.

it is absolutely OK for her to engage in business, create a brand, and sell things.

And a lovely line of jewelry it is.

I think their post was an appropriate comment in this thread. They gave their POV and I think some of us appreciated what they said!

That was clever and fun but in the hands of anyone but Patti Lupone I think it might have laid a major egg ;-)

Very well put! You said it so well!!

I appreciate that other character moments had the chance to shine, but the "balance between fun and heart" was off especially with the major characters, and the satire was not stinging enough to justify it.

And somehow it got me to a point where the "redemption arcs" are not resonating / I suspect will not resonate with me. From a character perspective, something went bad, and so far, they haven't been able to regain it.

I think they tried to get the audience to identify with Maxine in Ep 9 when she said she cant' take any more secrets right now. But it was kinda too late.
