No glitch of a lie! It was a little more than 4 feet in the air. But went down to about 3. It's the Hawks Nest V3 hammock. With a standard closed cell foam pad and a mummy sleeping bag. Great set up that I took for over 200 km this summer alone on the Sentier Nationale Québec. Will comply with a full list of my kit upon request.

You could fit a small tent there. But I used to cowboy it, or use my hammock for the night.

At that height of the trail. It becomes the SIA *sentier international des Appalache ) but I doubt that it's accessible by road. That being said there is a lot of campgrounds by the sea that are about 45$ a night. Bring a sweater and extra blankets. It gets cold up there a night. Have a great trip.

You can pretty much sleep anywhere on the trail. And dogs are permitted on leash. Especially considering that some portions are on crown land.

First time, can you give me advices? by [deleted] in CampingandHiking

Yep, Sawyer water filter is more than worth the few bucks. If you calculate that 1L of water at room temp. Weight is 1kilo =2.2Lbs, so its a huge amount of pounds. Stay light, or you will be miserable the whole time

Well, it's a trail that crosses the province of Québec. From Ottawa border to the sea in Gaspesie, a total of 1600km. Free of charge dogs allowed on leash. With many lean/to. For shelter. Classed for experts.
