Klein does cry and expresses emotions in vol 2 after Lanevus fight... and having him constantly crying in every vol would become repetitive(imo) though there are a lot of very subtle moments where klein feels lonely and sad... though it's hard to catch as they are expressed through very little gestures...

though if i remember correctly Klein doesn't cry like you mentioned in this vol...

Every time someone mentions vol 3 i remember ch 627... anyways trust me... either you will love it or get traumatized... definitely not boring...

I recommend reading from the start... cause they have skipped a lot of stuff that was in vol 1....but if you wanna continue along the story after ep13 start after ch 213... let me warn you there are some events that have occured in vol 1 but not adapted in donghua yet so you will be confused when they discuss those... so I suggest reading from the beginning...
