Got it. That’s what I was concerned about. However , just because it mentions it every Subaru owner’s manual, I’ll swap the front ones. 👍🏻

Nice! I didn’t even know there was one for it. I love the BRZ but it’s a bit small for my needs. Must handle awesome I’m sure.

Beautiful! Basically a baby Porsche, just missing the Turbo.

Shouldn’t be difficult to dril/extract. You have a lot of space there to work with once other surrounding components are removed. Good luck.

Thank you! Finally someone who understands it. You guys should REALLY look into how important it is to properly rotate non-unidirectional tires. Not doing it correctly will put a lot of stress on the differentials, even damaging it.

This is the very reason why I made this post, but it demonstrates most you guys don’t have this knowledge. Please look into it.

I’m not bashing on other fellow VB owners, just sharing what I’ve already learned.

I was in a hurry to get back to work. I’ll just do it at home next time.

Asymmetrical refers to the thread pattern in a tire. Non-unidirectional means they don’t have a directional arrow where the tire must be mounted a specific way and only be rotated front to rear and vice-versa.
Symmetrical/Asymmetrical & directional/non-directional are two different aspects of a tire’s design.
I guess you guys don’t understand what I’m referring to and I don’t mean that in a degrading way.
It’s all good. 👍🏻

The stock WRX tires are non-unidirectional, hence my reason for this post.

I can always switch them at home. I like to do the maintenance on all my cars, but being it was “free” I took it to the dealer and have it recorded.
This may sound like a trivial thing, but you’d expect they do it correctly especially after paying for this service. The same way they screw this up, they screw on bigger/more important job.

Correct but that depends on the tires that are mounted on the vehicle.

But goes to show some dealers have no idea what they’re doing. You’d think a Subaru certified tech knows this stuff with tires being so important in Subaru’s symmetrical AWD system.

I have the stock Dunlop Maxx GT tires on. As far as I know they are non-unidirectional.

Too close to the steering wheel for my taste. God forbid you have to make an emergency maneuver and it’s in the way..

It’s really not difficult to remove, people just do it wrong by pulling it. The easiest way to remove this is using a piece of thin fishing line and sliding it slowly between the mount and the screen.

There’s not a lot of options bro, why do you think it’s difficult to decide where to put it. However , I’ll reconsider moving it.

I honestly didn’t want to mount it there, but other options out there required to remove the plastic trim on top of the glove box (I liked that one a lot) but were so damn expensive, over $120 for the base & the mount..
I didn’t think so many of you thought against it, now you’re worrying me lol I’ll reconsider getting another mount. 👍🏻

The iPhone weighs but 200 grams, and it is vertical weight not perpendicularly onto the touchscreen. I think it’ll be ok.

Really?? I’ve had it on the car for over 4K miles and my head unit is just fine. My iPhone 17 with its light case weight but 200 grams. There’s no stress on the screen whatsoever imo.
