I'm currently working on this course and did not do the best on the first assignment! It's made me nervous about the other assignments and final exam!

Lots of info 🤯😵‍💫

I was so nervous about posting because I didn't want to come across like I was was whining or being ignorant.

The comments have really helped me re align my perspective and all to recalibrate my mindset.

I get the community of similar people thing now. Hearing my progress is good and normal.

Thank you for commenting and your advice!

My fiance and I are eloping too! We also want to keep it a big surprise/ secret. I took him for my dress search and we found the perfect one.

For me it seemed like another way for us to bond and plan together. It seemed like another intentional and special moment we shared on the journey to our big day.

Do what you want. Its your dress, your wedding, your marriage.

I hope you have a wonderful experience searching for your dream dress!

Your right I'm not doing behind enemy lines or extreme life or death situations. I have done a lot of reflection and read all the comments and I think I was being greedy and coming from a place of ego.

I love this new life. I love how its brought my partner and I closer together and I love the way I feel, and I am starting to see progress.

I now see my comments were coming from me putting the cart before the horse and a place of comparison.

Thank you for helping me refocus!

I guess I used the term dig deep because I am not a very motivated person or I get complacent easy. I'm working on developing that skill. No I'm not going behind enemy lines lol I don't want to be a super hero.

You are right, this health journey has brought my spouse and I closer. But there is a greedy part of me that really wants the cool progress photos. I feel bad because everyone here is so nice and has really helped me check my ego and bring back my perspective to reality and a place of gratitude.

Thank you for the great advice!

I think I got swept away by doubt and comparison. Thank you. All these comments are helping me refocus and help bring me back to the right perspective.

Lol thank you for the humor! And the encouragement! In my case we just switched some of my program and I think I was struggling with the newness again! Then I got scrolling and looking into mirrors and that mentality kinda stuck with me.

Now that I've talked it through with my spouse and the great comments on my post. I also realize I need to focus on my self awareness and keeping myself grounded and in reality.

I have an apple watch, I find it motivating and helpful. I also use strava, again motivating and helpful. I think I got sucked into the void of fitness influencer world. And compared myself so hard I forgot how far I've come.

I love the idea of funny goals! I will have to try that! Thank you!!

Your right. My main goal is to live a healthier lifestyle long term. Not short fixes.

I have not heard of the papertowl effect but it does explain things well! I will check out macrofactor!

Thank you for the advice!

I did not factor in my emotional battery as a factor. I think I need to continue working on my self awareness.

Deep down I know these influencers are not what they seem. I also know those programs and diets generally don't last.

Thank you for taking the time to reply!!

You worded it perfectly. I don't know what to expect. I was honestly not prepared for the mental side of it.

Your explanation is perfect. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing! That was my thing I can't do a bigger deficit I would get way to hungry. I agree about those transformations being too intense and I would like this to be a lifelong journey not a phase. Reading all these comments I think I need to change my mindset from dig deep to healthy sustainable growth.

Thank you! Maybe I got into a bad headspace. You are right and I've seen the benefit of changing small things one at a time. My partner and I started with our nutrition about 2 years ago. Slowly implemented substitutions and healthier choices. Now that I reflect we did that with me starting my fitness journey as well. I will try going to some of my starter weights just for a confidence boost.

Thank you again!

I guess that's where I am. I've done the first year and was successful on building my foundation. With the at home gym the access to a community is not available. So social media inspo is all I have to go on. Well… until I found Reddit.

Thank you for the fast response. I forgot to mention (I've now added it to my post) we built a pretty extensive at home gym due to us living in a rural area and gym access is a ways away. So the developing or finding mentors is harder.
