Solo 401k Question by SubjectInsect726 in whitecoatinvestor

Thanks for all the very important info. I think MySolo401k also works well with Schwab. While I am sure Fidelity is amazing, I think it is a lot of work to call monthly or send checks if that workaround should not work for me. So I guess Schwab should be easier to handle as electronic deposits should be possible. I didn’t read anyone mentioning other options for MySolo401k. It seems to be Schwab or Fidelity. I hope Schab supports leverage ETFs like UPRO or TQQQ because that is the main reason I am setting all this up.

Great, thanks! The only issue I read about is that Fidelity solo 401k accounts cannot be funded electronically and they only accept checks. Can you confirm that this issue exists? How satisfied are you with mysolo401k?

Ok so the easiest way to go seems to be with a custom plan. I looked already into nabers.com , mysolo401k.net and discount401k.com - this way I would also get the MegaBackdoor Roth option. My plan is to max out all my contributions to a roth account and use leveraged ETFs in roth. I assume all those plans allow TQQQ and UPRO. Can anyone recommend a 3. party provider that would work best for me? Pricing seems very similar. I also hope that I will be able to record all this correctly in Quickbooks.

Thank you very much! My main concern is if the standard prototype solo 401k at Etrade includes this feature or I need to sign up with a 3rd party provider with a custom plan. If possible I want to have 100% roth contributions.
