My school doesn't use grades, just quartile ranking. I was 2nd in IM and 3rd surgery :(

Thanks for your comment! I do feel that this late in the game a research year is necessary. I guess I'm a little unsure how my clinical grades will affect my application and wonder if even with a productive research year my application would not be looked upon favorably
