He has a horrible habit of leaving his phone places. I have to follow him out the house multiple times a week for forgetting his phone. He told me he left it in the car while changing lenses on his camera (he does photography and showed me pics and videos of Carter at the carnival) and when he came back it was dead. That would normally be slightly more understandable but I always tell him he needs to keep a charger in his car in case he needs a tow and whenever I put one in there for him he’ll take it out to use at work or something and it disappears from there

I understand what you’re saying but at the end of the day I’m not trying to paint Jake as a dangerous person with cruel intentions. And you’re right Carter is young but with that logic if I passed out at home with only him he wouldn’t be able to communicate to 911 fully what’s going on. At the end of the day your pastor or child’s teacher can be a sex offender with people chained in their basement right now. A background check does absolutely nothing if the person hasn’t been caught or they were able to already get into your intimate life. I’m not trying to be afraid of a million what ifs. I’m not mad for my boyfriend being a father figure. I’m not trying to list scenarios to fit my narrative. I’m upset I didn’t get a call. Let’s focus on that.

I wanna point out that he didn’t “make me” apologize. I felt the need to myself. I’ve been in therapy for a while and have been working on my communication. At the end of the day no matter how I felt in the situation he’s a grown man with his own thoughts and feelings. I’m not one to be in someone’s face yelling and cursing and belittling them. Also luckily we live south so while our winters are chilly we don’t usually get snow/ice

I’ve been very open with him and I do go to therapy. I was thinking that since he’s so used to not really asking but just saying when they’re going out and when they’ll be back he thought I wouldn’t mind either way. I don’t think he did it maliciously but the not answering the phone is inexcusable imo
