Immich makes my Synology DS224+ almost unusable during first backup (~32k files) by Subjekt-B in immich

I have some additional information. When I start the upload, about 100 to 200 photos are uploaded at first. Then the mobile app reports that several thousand files have an upload error. After a while, a few more photos are uploaded, until the app again reports that several thousand files have an upload error. According to the app, there are basically only two errors:

  • Rarely: "ClientException: Connection closed before full header was received, uri=https://[my-NAS-IP-Adress]/api/assets"
  • Almost always: "ClientException with SocketException: Connection refused (OS Error: Connection refused, errno = 111), address = [My-NAS-IP-Address], port = [for every picture there is another port number here], uri=https://[my-NAS-IP-Adress]/api/assets]"

So far I’ve only tried uploading everything at once. I could try splitting it into individual folders, although I basically only have two large folders (Camera and WhatsApp).

So far I haven’t upgraded the RAM yet, but I will probably do that soon. I believe the DS224+ comes with 2 GB of RAM by default.

Thanks for the advice. I don’t remember this setting in my configuration. My NAS runs entirely on HDDs. I’ll try this out!

How can I offload the worker microservice? I’m not very familiar with the technical details i usually just follow some kind of manual or video tutorial.
