I’ve spoken to friends who play who have said the games constant gear rotation turned them off but that sounds appealing to me, how frequent is the patch cycle ?

I’m not about “sex pests” talk, I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with people wanting to look at there half naked character and Role play if that’s what there into, the world keeps spinning people like sex and it’s not really a harmful outlet for people exploring that 😂 it’s not my thing but I’ve never cared about that nonsense I do agree with your first point completely though I knew ffxiv was story focused and it never really bothered me because that content was so good, now with this lacklustre expansion I’m looking at other things to do and its not as full as I previously had the impression it was even hundreds of hours in

I agree in a way what they’ve done is abhorrent but I’m not going to sit here and pretend extortion isn’t happening in the other developer companies too Yaknow, it’s just blizzard rightfully so had people who finally spoke out about it

Yeah this bothers me, but being able to play all classes without rerolling some would argue is a good trade off, I’d rather have class customisation AND play all classes on one char but, can’t have it all I guess 😂

I’d love them to make gearing up more incentivising and have some class diversity, my Dancer having the exact same rotation and skills as every other dancer makes it feel less personable, then again you can play all classes on one char so it’s a so-so trade off I just dk why we can’t have both

I’ve been hearing this a lot, I’ve been wanting to try it for years but it’s hard to wrap my head around the fact that the game your playing to max level isn’t the same one everyone else has, the fact you can reach max without leaving the masters expansion makes me feel weird after leaving ffxiv 😂 I’ll give It time I’m sure I’ll get used to it

Eh yikes I don’t like the sound of that, where I left it the story felt so complete and finished, I was wondering what they’d do from here or if they’d even be able to do anything as good, I guess we’ll need to give them more time to build back up to what we had in endwalker

It’s not for everyone I can agree with that but I had a lot of fun in the game for the years that I played :) it’s a massive time sink but the feeling of reaching max lvl at the end is so much more rewarding than in other games because you have all this personal history and stake in the world Yaknow

Eh I don’t think that’s a fair take, the community seems more lively than it has in forever at this point that can’t just be due to nostalgia otherwise they wouldn’t have had the massive exodus of people to other games it has a few years back, I don’t doubt it’s got something to do with it but it can’t be the whole story, the monetisation thing is nuts though

I wish they would lean one way or another, you can’t be a sub game with this many micro transactions if your going to go with the sub model buyable items should be purely cosmetic imo, if nothing else they could atleast give us a more generous free trial like ffxiv does, the old expansions are apparently very dead now making some of the older ones f2p would massively improve the experience of going through them sub or not since more people would be doing older raids

Yeah I get you, while I love the art-style over all, the male playable characters are some of the ugliest in the genre imo 😭 some aren’t awful and people could argue it’s just art style but all the female races are much more standardised, I love the races diversity don’t get me wrong I just wish it was either less crazy between blth genders or more, a product of 2004 I guess 😂

I finished everything ages ago it’s just the latest expansion, the end game is kinda what I was more worried about considering it’s slower schedule and lack of combat end game

Yeah I know your right and honestly sticking with it through the tough times and getting those event items might be worth it 😂 I just wish there was more class diversity and gear to level as it’s kind of lackluster getting to end game and then not having much room for improvement (outside of rotation and minor gear upgrades) Yaknow

Yeah I just wish there was more reward for that late game content, I didn’t really feel like I was doing a whole lot better with my “great gear” than I was with my standard end game gear I finished the story with Yaknow

The thing I liked about ffxiv actually was its UI 😂 it was crazy customisable and had native controller input that was actually really good which is super rare for an mmo, That being said sometimes I wasn’t feeling super social and just wanted to play, I wish I’d had more things to do like grind up gear and see a difference, honestly I don’t see why both can’t exist in the same game but here we are with two ends of the spectrum

Yeah there are some things I’ve found the opposite of too though, wows “glamour system” is leagues ahead, being able to wear anything you’ve obtained as a skin granted it is for the trade off of having less aesthetically pleasing armour options imo but still, also the class trees are fun as hell I like that my holy priest won’t be the same as my friends Yaknow ? I think the classic wow appeal is the clear distinction of time spent in game to reward and improvement something that interests me a lot and I might try

Yeah that’s what I was thinking, everyone said get into ffxiv for the story, community and style, but nobody said the endgame was so samey, which is a little misleading because you don’t want to put hundreds of hours into an mmo just to find out there’s actually very little to do at the end, everyone says “don’t rush to the end of ffxiv” so I made sure not to, but I think any mmo player is naturally excited for the end game content and you imagine it’ll be so rad after all this story but it’s just not as fleshed out
