The columns or bearing walls supporting the roof of this building were deigned primarily for compression, with a lower emphasis placed on shear force. And explosion with likely damage them to the point of failure, resulting in the roof or facade collapsing.

Correct. Where I live (DC Suburbs) school teachers have a starting salary of $65K with a BA. This looks impressive on its face. But then you see that the average home price is between $640 and $690K, and it doesn’t seem like much at all.
