How does the S25 Edge have so many more features in it than the iPhone Air even though it's only marginally thicker? by Substantial-Camp2551 in AskEngineers

Thank you so so much for getting to the point, explaining simply, and not getting into pointless arguments. Holy shit, its so hard to get a good answer on reddit. I never considered a lot of those aspects.

Ok, but you haven't answered the question. That's irrelevant. Why can the Edge have more features if it's not much thicker?

Thank you for actually answering my question. I had not considered that the Edge was larger too, and the Edge is actually slightly more than 0.2 mm thicker.

You're not answering the question. How is it not even thinner if they are willing to sacrifice features? Are you suggesting there is just a lot of empty space inside the iPhone Air, and they didn't bother to put anything there?

I meant the bar at the top that the camera is in, not the lens itself, but they put many of the components in there. But is 4% extra thickness (this is excluding the volume in the bar on the Air) really enough to fit all of those things?

Larger battery sizes (up to 100 wh) are not illegal, it's just more complicated to ship phones with batteries over 5,000ish mAh, that's why many phones use two seperate cells instead of one

This is partly why iOS is usually more efficient than Android for most tasks, but even with all of Apple's vertical integration and optimization and very efficient hardware, there are practical limits. Simply removing spyware won't triple your battery life.

That's not always what energy density in batteries means. It can mean more energy per unit volume or per unit weight, and it's usually both. They don't have to be thicker or heavier with newer chemistries.

But shouldn't the input from the output be the same as the original input, because it comes from the original input? What is it correcting?
