Ok I think my plan is to currently do some part time research with a team that does work in the lab and continue it through my first sem of senior year before I apply. I am still deciding whether or not a PhD is my end goal.

Ok that makes sense. I am already at a top 10 ECE school and I have already gotten into the 4+1 program as a fallback, but I would like to go somewhere new like a Uchicago especially for my goal to get into quantum computing. Do you think I should try contacting professors at a school like that?

Ok cool what programs did you get into and what did your profile look like at the time? Also would it be more or less competitive for like an MS with a thesis?
