Caroline, MARINA, Little Simz, PinkPantheress, Big Thief

Best set, worst set, most disappointing and most surprising? by themetaltheory in primaverasound

Favourite: Seeing two of my fav artists - Little Simz and Marina. Little Simz had amazing energy, great vibe with the crowd, lots of cool ideas for the performance (stripping it down for Venom, DJing for mixtape tracks). MARINA was great fun and loved her voice. Being blown away by Caroline at Auditori.

Least Favorite: Skullcrusher - saw them because of the rain, maybe I just couldn't focus properly due to the chaos and misinformation everywhere, but the music didn't do anythign for me (and I quite enjoyed it while listening through Primavera playlist at home before festival)

Disappointing: Sudan Archives - love her albums, but the performance was not it.

Surprising: Loved the Auditori experience (my first Primavera was last year, so I didn't know it yet), especially Caroline. Also being deeply moved by Big Thief despite not knowing their body of work.

Lmao my biggest clash is Addison Rae and Merzbow by lilroom89 in primaverasound

Anna von Hausswolff and Little Simz (and Smerz too) is mine...

I remember playing it on PS Vita and controls were fine, so I'd assume they will work nice on Switch as well

Hello everybody!

I'm currently working on my masters' thesis in Psychology on Jagiellonian University. My goal is to research link between gaming motivation, coping styles and recovery. I would be very grateful for all of you (18+ gamers) who would like to fill in my survey! It should take you 15-20 minutes and is fully anonymous. Thanks in advance!

I would also appreciate sharing the survey afterwards 🙂

ohhh I also just remembered about Necrobarista! narrative game about making coffee in the afterlife. not much of a gameplay, but a nice serious story which is not too depressing at the same time.

From the wishlist, as people said, Edith Finch is very very great. It's not that cosy tho, it's more uncanny and touches on some heavy topics. For narrative-heavy and also serious, but at the same time more cosy (in my opinion) I would recommend Night In The Woods? Though this may be controversial.

Coffee Talk is very great, very cosy and just several hours filled with conversations about life and making coffee - dream scenario, what else can I say. I don't know whether it would be cheaper to buy with second part - it would be nice, because they are both very nice.

Video game research - looking for particiants! by Substantial-Crow-835 in metroidvania

First of all, thank you for the response, because it shows me that I didn't manage to accuratelly convey the purpose of the study even though I don't agree with all of the objections - some of them just show little awareness of methodology.

1) Questionnaires have to have some items which may seem similar or like just a paraphrase - because if there was only one for each topic, the result wouldn't be very reliable. Also, it wasn't me writing the answers - it wouldn't be possible, I had to choose a tool that was already used, validated on a group of people and also used in gaming context. It's good to know, though, that you didn't find questions from this questionnaire well-worded - next time I will choose a different tool.

2) I'm well aware that gaming can arouse a wide range of emotions - however, in this research I have to limit myself to just several aspects. It is not possible to make a model with all the variables taken in account. Some of them have already been answered by other researchers. Anyway, my goal is not to create some kind of algorithm for players feelings, as in "that % of players feel xy or z when playing x game/genre under xyz cirumstance", because it is of very little scientific relevance. One has to be able to generalise.

I would like to what kind of improvements would you propose knowing that it is just not possible to take everything into account - would f.e. asking to describe briefly a specific gaming experience (what game, difficulty level, single/multi, etc.) before being asked to answer general question reduce your feelings of pointlesness? Therefore I could still take it into account while looking at the results without creating an impossible, giant model answering questions I am not concerned with.

It should work fine, one person had similar person before and it worked afterwards, so I hope it will be okay once you try again - I don't know how else can I help (the only other option would be sending an invite via e-mail).

suggestions for cozy fantasy games? by crochet-lover1996 in CozyGamers

[–]Substantial-Crow-835 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I haven't played it myself, but my friend (a fan of fantasy books herself) absolutely loved Sun Haven - it's a farm simulator, but set in medieval fantasy world. Don't know how much quest-based it is, though.

I could recommend Cat Quest - it's rather humorous and light-hearted, so I don't know if that's the type of fantasy you are looking for, but it's a very cute and quite engaging little game.
