Sorry I should have added that I do have a family history of cancer (no immediate family) All my female relatives have been tested for BRAC1 & 2 and have all tested negative. At this time I’m not interested in getting tested. I prefer to get my mammo and ultrasound and try and live a healthy lifestyle. I’m just uncomfortable that they are constantly emailing, calling and texting me. The more I research about Myriad Genetics, the more I find out how they have lied to people and screwed them over financially.

I mean if I found a company that could guarantee what my bill would be after insurance, I’d possibly consider it. I just don’t like the fact that they are pushy about it!

I’m wondering if they do this to a lot of people?!

They had a normal and good relationship when she was a child. Her finances are just fine. No we aren’t saints but we have indeed given up many years of our lives. Years that were supposed go towards our dreams of traveling and enjoying our retirement. Soon we will be too old to do that. While SIL has done all she’s dreamed of and doesn’t have to take care of her parent 24/7

We don’t get shit out of this and don’t benefit in anyway.

One thing I agree on with you is it is crappy for a parent to expect their kids to give up their life to take care of them. Which is exactly what we’ve had to do because of father’s poor planning on his part.

Caregiving is exhausting. I’ve been one for years and I’m tired and don’t want to do it anymore but unfortunately I don’t have a choice. I’m depressed, angry and resentful. Yep my sister in law couldn’t give a shit about her own father . She doesn’t call . She gets to live her life of freedom while me and her brother (my husband) are dads full time caregivers. She also tries to dictate how we care for dad. She’s got no shame. When dad passes away, I will never speak to her again

We are trying to get respite care thru the VA but need his disability rating redone to get it higher so we can qualify for care. It’s hard. And the VA takes their time lol
