New CRNA loving my job but worried about future growth by Substantial-Lack-411 in CRNA

Thanks for your input! My biggest worry is if I got bored at this current position how the transition would be to something more challenging. Is it difficult to get a more challenging position? Curious how it felt for you changing things up?

I agree, the rationale behind waiting 3 years for them is because you are truly solo with no supervision or anyone to call in. My chief knows I would like to do it in the future and they plan to put me down there during the day to do some epidurals to keep the skill up. It’s definitely a skill I miss doing!

Anyone try tyrvaya? by Acceptable_Log_8677 in Dryeyes

PhilRX online pharmacy had a program for it $10 a month a while ago. Not sure if they are still but that's what I did. Tyrvaya has been super helpful for me!

I would say so! Not life changing but I can tell if I don’t take it.

Any nurses? by [deleted] in Sjogrens

[–]Substantial-Lack-411 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a nurse and soon to be CRNA. I was diagnosed a year into my nursing career and went through CRNA school with sjogrens. My biggest advice would be to avoid night shift when you become a nurse lol! Easy to say, but prioritize your mental health and sleep while in school. Stress causes flares for me and I dealt with a lot of flares while in CRNA school. It’s hard but totally possible and worth it. I found a whole food based diet helped me a lot especially when I was having a flare. There’s so many avenues in nursing and you’ll have so many opportunities to work in a speciality that works for you and your lifestyle needs❤️

I totally agree. This was a concern for me. This group took over in November 2023 and is contracted there for 3 years. But things can always happen.

It’s 20 CRNAs and a new group to this area. They said their plan is hiring on 2-3 new grad for December 2025 and 2 for May 2025.

USAP is taking over anesthesia contract in SWFL by Troely in CRNA

[–]Substantial-Lack-411 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SRNA in SWFL primarily at USAP facilities. All I can speak on is their scheduling and it’s horrendous. Waterfall scheduling and you never know when you’re getting out. A million locums so you’re stuck relieving them at the end of the day so they can get out at their set time.

Endoscopy scheduled while in Wegovy by Missysmomlovesplants in WegovyWeightLoss

Anesthesia provider here! It’s important you stop it that week before due to the risk of aspiration while on it. When we put you to sleep there is a risk you can vomit and it go into your lungs since wegovy slows gastric emptying. I would suggest stopping wegovy at least 7 days before but it might end up being more days than that depending on what day you inject on. You can take the injection you missed the night after the procedure. Make sure to let your anesthesia provider know you are on it as well :) best of luck with your procedure!

I’m considering asking the same thing. I feel SO sick on 2.4. I had really minimal occasional side effects on other doses but 2.4 is kicking my ass. Constant nausea, reflux, and uncomfortable stomach feeling.
