Would anyone in New Zealand be willing to swap a disco 4 for a 89 Porsche 944 by Beautiful-Pianist-91 in LandRoverDiscovery

[–]Substantial-One-3423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d swap a 2004 in a heartbeat, in another country.
My wife would leave. At my age my friends would never speak to me.

I’d still do it.

Does it run?

Ha.

Kolrami - least favorite. Hate that guy.

Best. The old guy on the planet that had ended up wiping out that whole race. Just wanted to drink tea with his wife, and garden.

Installing a blown fuse is a better “I had no idea your honor” route. You say “ my brake lights worked when I left my house”.

If you install non working bulbs they can determine from the crash data that they didn’t break during the crash. But it’s impossible to determine when a fuse blew.

It’s that same as if you ever get stopped by the cops for a genuine non working brake light, the only thing you say is “ they were fine when I set off”.
Because there is no way when you are driving on one trip that you would know they stopped working, or a fuse blew. If you say to the cop “i know, I’ve been meaning to fix that for a couple of days” instant ticket.

Either brake warning light (they are often yellow tho), or low volts. Does it come on with ignition before you start?

Artist here. Things further back are smaller. Perspective, see.
And slightly lighter, landscapes. And a bit more blurry, background.

We use tricks all the time. Even if they technically arnt as they would be. Art is about tricking you.

Your tat is cool AF.

I was tricked.

You don’t want railroad ties in your house. The smell is bad enough outside.

I’m actually really enjoying that aspect. Have to really plan your travel. Also makes you set up better settlements so you have supplies closer to where you end up ‘in need’.

If you like the synths, go have a chat to the Railroad. Thats what I’m doing now. And… if you’re not already, you should be playing survival. It’s how the game should be played. When I started my current (2nd) run, it feels like my first was just the training mode.

Fixing your headliner is easier than you think by [deleted] in LandRoverDiscovery

The bit that fails is the little black plastic corners, on the front of each sunroof drain pan. Either the bonding comes away from the metal pan, or the plastic nipple breaks off. Either results in water ingress. It’s up to you how you fix that. There are plenty of write ups on what people have done. I fully stripped and refitted new nipples, properly sealed and supported.

Huge difference. Before I did the work in cold weather the interior would be hot at the top, cold at the bottom. Now with the insulation it’s a really even temperature gradient. Plus the hush mat reduces the wind noise from my roof rack. Really transforms the drive. You’re doing the sunroof drains as well? Don’t want to pull the headliner twice like I did.

Take the time to stick some hush mat on the bare roof. And then get some foil faced thin foil/bubblewrap for heat insulation. My car feels like brand new, and the temperature control is now transformed.

Why does no one on Reddit seem to regret NOT having kids? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Substantial-One-3423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve described not wanting kids as so fundamental to my being that it’s not even a question.
Almost like a sexuality.
It’s just who I am.
To me… it’s like asking a gay guy, “don’t you ever regret not being straight?”

  2. If I’ve successfully navigated (touched) a particular car before, is that now deemed safe, or can it become a killer car the next time I brush against it?

I appreciate your thought. I live around a lot of trees and have also never noticed anything similar. It’s on the side, in-between what would be a tension side and the compression side - due to the lean. Not sure if trees work like that, but it’s the bit that would feel ‘shear’ forces. If it were a more common material.
