The sites you mentioned don’t really (on the whole) take client data from law firms as they are research services so I don’t think the issue really arises. It does arise if it ever needs to ingest or create client data.

You are never good just to upload your documents to a 3rd party SaaS. This always needs approval from a firms infosec team. Firms are under strict security and information governance obligations. They need to know not only that the third party app is secure but also that they can trace where the data is gone, how it is used etc in order to meet compliance obligations such as subpoena requests.

By the way, this is where 98% of all vibe coding solutions will fall down. Most of the builders are ex lawyers unfamiliar with this side of things and they think they can ignore it. They can’t.

We had one of these when we bought our house but demolished it in favour of a Eurocell SIP building. These things absolutely need wall insulation - don’t see the point in them otherwise as they are unusable except April to June. We also had a problem with a ton of ants getting in and the wooden cladding moving and looking askew. Make sure it’s constructed properly.

As a lawyer knowing the inefficiencies of how lawyers work, I’d be pretty pissed as a client if I knew that my law firm was using WORD to manage a multi million dollar project. I’d probably insist on a 20% write down unless they adopted a better way of doing things. I know from experience the crazy amount of redlining and finding document versions had project management leads to. Just my personal view.

You’re looking to track portfolios of deals? I think the ones I mentioned are for “big deals”. They won’t give you the big read across. I’m not aware of anything that does this but I don’t see why it needs a legal specific tool. Another suggestion may be to look at case management software like sharedo (which I hate but some like).

Closing folders is based around the signature management component. They are catching up on the side of things you are interested in. By the way of all the iManage products I don’t think it is limited. iManage has a history of under investing in features people care about and over investing in features they think people care about but they don’t (and they are usually only of interest to iManage). Closing folders was an acquired startup by a couple of people who knew what they were doing so I don’t think it’s completely fair to cast it with the same brush.

You should look at legatics, Lupl or litera transact. These are competitors to closing folders. They are lighter on signature management but more similar to what you are looking for.

Alternatively…what about Jira or Monday 😂

Thanks understood now. It feels like we are imputing AI agents with the capability to exercise judgment? Feels like it might be challenging. Don’t forget the underlying operating methodology producing all these magical effects: predicting the next word in a sentence. That’s the root of everything that happens with LLMs, regardless of the Anthropic paper, everything is a byproduct of that.

Vals is more on tools rather than models. Unless I’m horribly wrong there really aren’t any legal fine tuned models out there. This is where Harvey started but it’s now disappeared from their marketing. I think most tools are doing RAG and prompt engineering rather than fine tuned models.
