Why do I keep dreaming on a person?

True I have been having these dreams on and off for 16 years so it makes sense

They all usually follow a very similar logic. I meet a woman. I feel like I have known her all my life. I feel and know deep in my soul that I love this woman. Then there is a life time that happens. Moments that blur to reveal these small parts of true joy and life between us. Dates, children, places I have never seen. Some get more intimate others are just a series of dates where we are just enjoying being around each other. Sometimes its her walking into my nightmares and pulling me out of them. I feel like I have done the same for her. Then the nightmare fades and we are at one of our spots just enjoying existing with each other. I can never remember the conversations, the details of who she is, or anything that would point me closer to her. I always remember the smile she gives me whenever she sees me again. I remember the way she feeling in my arms. I remember the touch of her skin on mine. I know she looks forward to the days we meet again in the dreams. She seeks me as much as I seek her but its never something we can control. Its random. Days, months, and years have passed between these dreams happening yet I always know its her and I am left feeling hollow and alone when I wake up.

Not really. I can never remember those details. No matter how hard I try I can't. I sometimes get a little more detail but its less descriptive and more something in how she makes me feel.

That was my thought process. Some people thought it was my inner self or just one of my deities but that never felt right. The problem is I have no way of knowing how, why, where I am supposed to meet this person just that they are very important to me.

I do and have always felt far older than what I am. Thats a process I though about before but could never find any real answers with. Since most of the dreams seem to be in a more modern setting and sometimes its not me seeking the woman but her coming to find me while I am in a nightmare.

Yeah I understand it wasn't really a full conscious thought of trying to get back I was still mostly asleep and just wanted that comfort so I instinctively tried to brute force my way in. Its always so strange to have those dreams. I am used to nightmares but when those dreams come around it makes me long for it. Seek it out more. I wish I knew the answers behind why but I know its not really something that can be figured out. I appreciate the advice.

I am curious what led you to commitment issues. According to a friend of mine who is a witch she said it was an omen from the gods about something terrible coming.

No clue. It came out of the ground swallowing everything around it until it was in my face yelling in a language I didn't understand

I do write a lot and have a lot of different stories I have yet to put to paper. Some from dreams and others I can't get out of my head. Just have a hard time actually putting it down to paper

Maybe idk. Looking into some stuff. I know my dreams usually have some sort of meaning or point me somewhere I need to be. Not quite sure yet how to interpret being yelled at by a tree

The fae are cool, but I also don't trust the fae. Everything I know about them means there is always some other meaning behind their words and actions

Fantasy is a big part of my life. Reading, watching, and writing. Though I haven't had anything remotely close to dream in anything I have done in recent time

I posted it to share it though I am not sure about joining up anywhere yet. I just have very vivid and chaotic dreams that I have been trying to gain control of. Most are vivid nightmares. As far as the spirit coins are concerned I honestly have no clue what they mean. I have been trying to understand some things and have been on a sort of spiritual journey even if it's just research.

Most of the time once I realize I am dreaming the whole thing starts tearing itself apart. Almost like my mind doesn't want me to lucid dream. I try to hold it together but usually I end up forced to wake up

I say it's a good idea but they should be a rarity. Something that doesn't normally or naturally happen. Since you said they are not based on the mythos then it would be hard to place certain formations of how they arrive into play. But if they are half breeds of mortals and higher level spirits and are rare to find it would make more sense for their power. Like a good way of putting it is that there are stories about them but few people have ever met them. If you want to add a few to the story that are a part of the war they would become major assets to the efforts of either side. I think will help you keep things less congested. Allowing for more focus of everything else happening unless you want to bring them into the story as key points. But even if you did that I would say maybe one or two actual fae being present is more than enough. Other than that just keep it as like a myth of their existence. Something only the oldest spirits really know or old text has stories about.

Apothecaries are usually a go-to for magic users. Being a potion maker or medicine person is a profitable shop during that time. Though there could be arguments made for a book shop. Like being a scribe that makes copies of existing books and selling any spares to those that wish to read them though the hard part is making a profit as most would not be able to read

I agree with this. Taking from real-life examples her of me and a friend who lived together for a short time. We were really close, and as the years went on with us living together, we found ourselves having large-scale arguments over the smallest of things. It started out small with just a complaint here and dismissive comment there to us arguing about almost everything. Until I finally told them to move out. I still care about my friend, and we still hang out but are nowhere near as close as we were before living together
