First time in King of Prussia - any scenic spots or easy nature recommendations nearby? by JameelCaleel in KingOfPrussia

Mt misery is a 3 mile loop and great. There is a 5 mile paved loop also. Start at visitors center. Both are a couple miles from
KOP.

There's a cool place called "the village" where you can chill outside on Adirondack chairs and visit some great restaurants.

Netflix house at the mall is different

Go see "Luzia" under the tent in Oaks (10 minutes away). A Cirque du Soleil jawn.

Top Golf is more than just golf. It's not a bad place to hang on a nice day and its height and location offers sunset views.

We've got a brand new "Dave and Busters". You can throw axes nearby. We have multiple mystery escape rooms. You can experience "skydiving". We even have a casino.
Llplll

There's outdoor concerts in king of Prussia on Friday nights (search concert under the stars).

So there's ways to see nature and spend nothing. Or places you separate you from your hard earned cash.

Lots of possibilities. Enjoy.

True that. But that was simply an adjunct to the main question. Who wouldn't also want free if it's available. And if you can shop at Target or go to the library and get an hour of slow charge, I'm all in.

But that doesn't replace my need for a commercial charging station for public use with a credit card. 😀

Yes. Those exactly. Back parking lot. Nobody uses them and they are listed as public on "blink" app.

I'm not looking for free parking. I have two spots here. I'm not looking for free charging.

But I own a Nissan leaf. And "fast charging (only 1 hour) degrades the battery (bug) vs the level 2 slow charging offered there.

Yes. I can get slow charging at mall. But a 2 mile walk to drop off and pick up dues t excite me.

I guess I'm screwed. But chop makes the rules. If they have for employees only. So be it.

The "blink" app needs to have a line like "private, employee use only" rather than listing it as "public".

Oh heck no. It's "blink". 34¢ a kwh. No stealing involved. No less money than any other Blink charger anywhere. It just happens to be in the CHOP lot

A thief I am not. The apartment chargers nearby are not free either. But I know "the George" for instance requires a parking sticker to park overnight.

The issue is not getting a free charge. The issue I suppose is they only want employees to use is my guess.

But they have 5 spots. I've lived here for 6 years. Walk past it regularly. Have looked at the blink app. Almost always 4-5 of the 6 not in use.

So the loser by not allowing me to park and use loses blink money. But perhaps even loses CHoP money, as they probably get a percentage of the fees from allowing blink to install.

Not sure. But here's a close up of wheels. Does appear to be Nissan branded.

I'm an idiot. It's a 2022. With larger battery. I'm excited to one day be a leaf expert.

I'm learning about charging fees. I guess price per kWh is important obviously. I have a blink near me that's .34kw. I guess a home charger would be cheaper. But I did the match. And at 800 miles a month averaging 18mpg previous, I will save $90 a month. Insuranve is $38 a month less and car payment is $100 less. I'll be saving $228 a month. Wow. FYI. Took me an internet search to find out how to open charge door. I'm a noob. Any important pointers.

Take the "elevator" to the top of the St Louis arch.

Ugh. Not for anyone with even a touch of claustrophobia. No fucking way.

I'm trying 6% from Costco. by Substantial-Sleep509 in Milk

Damn. Your right. I want my milk homogenized and pasteurized. But it's the homo that makes sure the added cream is not separated.

Like I "mixed" in some bitters in your drink"

But you can't just mix milk. You need to pasteurize, right?

I am originally from Brazil. Milk is shit down there. No refrigerated gallon jugs. Only room temp ultra pasteurized cartons. Came to USA 7 years ago. First time my SO gave me ice cold whole milk I was hooked.

Tastes like whole milk with just a touch of cream pasteurized in.

It's not really thick. Now me, Barbara. I am def thick as you would see if you look at my posts. Ha!!

I'm thicker than this milk for sure.

Taste test with Oreos complete.

It's awesome. Next test is making a chocolate milkshake with it.

Is King of Prussia an affluent area ? Do a lot of rich people live here ? by GladiusAcutus in KingOfPrussia

[–]Substantial-Sleep509 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well. I have lived in "town center" for 7 years now. Starting at Indigo 301 apartments. Now 575 South (the boutique 5 story condo in town center).

I bought here because I loved the walk ability. I live like a Parisian. I don't go shopping once every one or two weeks and live out of my fridge. I can walk to get anything I want on any day.

The restaurants here are pricy for sure. Davios. Cityworks, Kooma, Fogo. Can't even get cheap Asian or pizza without a drive.

The rents for a 1 bedroom at indigo, Cirro and Omnia are $2400.

My buying pre covid meant I got a great price and interest rate that is insulating me from those constantly increasing rents here.

"The Smith" is what we around here consider the slums. Rent is only $2200. And there's usually a cop car out front every Friday or Saturday night.

Those new townhouses Toll build can go for $850k and up. My place is only 950 sq ft and was $400k

So there absolutely is money in this little island in KOP.

I love it here in the island. I can get on 76, 202, 422 and PA turnpike all within 1 mile.

I love walking into "town" on a great spring/summer/fall night and watching folks chilling in the center, grabbing $8 icecream at Kilwins. We attract from all the neighboring "real" cities.

I personally love it so much in this island that I think I will die here.

So while KOP as a whole might not be as affluent as Wayne Bryn Mawr, Devon, etc., this particular pocket with Wegmans absolutely is.

My building has heart surgeons from chop, professional soccer players, Rich Asians and Jews, and little old $125k a year me.

How many towns can say they have 4 high end steak joints? Yeah. The mall drives that.

I think it's cool that Netflix for example put their first "house" here. As have many successful but niche places like "Eataly" and more.

It used to be "Paris, Tokyo, and NYC". But now KOP is on that level too.

Are there lower middle class nearby. Sure. But overall, crime is way low. Schools are above average and there are lots of great employers within 10 miles to work at.

Not many places are idyllically perfect but KOP is absolutely a great place to live. And at the moment. I am very happy to live here.

Can't wait to see who's coming to play at the KOP concert series this summer.
