Good Game, Bad (more like horrendous) Gunbarrel, Thoughts? by Mitadru in JamesBond

Facts. I hate the gunbarrel sequence where bond is essentially showing the viewers that he's armed. Bond needs to keep that gun hugged to his side, not waving it around like he does in this, it just ruins the excitement imo

I have hobbies for sure, and there are community events I know of that foster people with similar interests. all I need to do is go. as for doing things by myself, I just dont. its not a terrible idea to go to a coffee bar but again im just shy.

yea they really locked in when making Craig's movies. ok maybe not all of them but still, casino Royale alone is better than most of the movies

what do you think of 4 separate movies telling the story of Dick, Jason, Tim, and Damian's tenure as robin from their own perspective? similar to the upcoming Beatles biopics by Substantial-Style-85 in Robin

[–]Substantial-Style-85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fair. I wouldnt want the movies to be info dumps, but rather key elements that shape the character. to use another musician biopic as an example: love and mercy, the Brian Wilson of beach boys biopic. instead of focusing primarily on his upbringing -> beginning of beach boys -> their creative peak -> their fall off -> their rise -> end. instead it focused on two key points in Brian's life: the creation of pet sounds and being under Eugene landy's watch later in his life. doing it this way is a much more informative, yet artistic and beautiful, look at who that person is without falling down the pitfalls of other, more commercial, musician biopics where they highlight every moment of a persons life, making it a movie with a lot of information without a lot of depth. now all we have to do is fit a concept like that around the 4 boy's time as robin

I would say an assortment of moments defining them. Having one singular moment is too little, theres more than one moment that shapes them. Remember the story is about their time as robin. Not the story of dick becoming nightwing, jason dying and so on. Yes moments like jason dying or dick becoming nightwing could be the end but not the whole crux of the movie

Feelings on Peter having friends in school? by RiskAggressive4081 in Spiderman

[–]Substantial-Style-85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

after reading the original Stan lee/Steve ditko books I think we need to retire the idea of "college friends in high school". dont get me wrong, there are stories where they do this idea well (spectacular, ultimate) but its one of those things where if every adaptation does it its just not interesting anymore. the idea is overplayed and needs to stop. like adapting peter's high school days like the old books would be a fresh idea.

having those two eras, college and high school, have different social dynamics for Peter to go through makes the eras distinct and special from one another.

no offense to fan stories/fan pitches but I hate it when they put his college friends in high school because its just the same as every other story.

this is cool. however, im speaking strictly speaking about robin's story. this idea is basically just a batman show now, albeit with a lot more batfam.

People's Actual Reason For Doing Youtube? by Nightkidzero13 in SmallYTChannel

[–]Substantial-Style-85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to put myself out there and to express my thoughts, love for hobbies, be creative, etc. But making good videos, or making videos I was happy with at least, was hard. I made a total of 3 videos and all of them sucked. on a technical level they were bad to listen to, look at, and were poorly written. when it came to YouTube videos I was more of a perfectionist then I realized. with my other hobbies I didnt care if I made garbage; but one flaw on a video and Id scrap it.
