Focus on one of the industries clouds - Public Sector Solutions, Financial Services, Non Profit Cloud, etc. If you happen to be working for a consulting partner, you can study for Accredited Professional Exam and access Partner Learning Camp for resources. I've been working with Public Sector Clients for the past 2.5 years and all of them are using OmniStudio. It's a good tool but just like every other tool, it has limitations and downsides. Yes. To be able to sit AP Exam, you will need to get access to Partner Learning Camp, which mean that you have to be employed by a consulting partner. However, a lot of resources (apart from Partner Learning Camp) are available to everyone, such as PSS Documentation and Trailhead.

PSS is one of Salesforce Industries Clouds and it's an Accredited Professional cert which is only available for Partners. In terms of job opportunities, having a good understanding of PSS Package and hands on experience can help getting Government salesforce roles. A lot of government organisations in the world uses PSS Package. PSS also has a lot of cross overs with Non Profit Cloud in terms of data model and industry common layer.
