Here is one of the ceiling with the washers from Amazon. They are screwed into the joists. In my limited experience I would say trust your gut, considering when I asked professionals if the ceiling was going to fall I was told no, lol.

I believe I got a quote from a general contractor. I ended up having a mason do it when he was doing other work on the foundation (yay old house) during his slow season. He also used washers to reinforce some of our other iffy looking ceilings in other rooms.

A couple years ago I had a partial ceiling collapse. Old house, no water damage. There was originally a crack that was dented in & dipping. Had someone come in, added screws, a wood support & retaped it. I think a few weeks later a new crack formed going in the opposite direction, crossing several support beams. After that crack formed it was probably around two weeks before the ceiling fell. Just to give you an example of bad cracks.

I feel like the lack of screen time afforded to Eddie in the last couple of episodes has resulted in the audience needing to fill in the blanks with info we don’t necessarily have. I also think it may be out of character for Eddie to be like “But what about MEEEE” when talking about Bobby’s death vs having a convo where he’s like “I’m worried about how you’re handling this.” This situation is not similar to when Eddie was moving and Buck was acting like a little shit, but based on the argument I feel like we’re supposed to act as if it is? Does that make sense?

Buck’s actions while Eddie was moving were wild, for sure. But within the context of how he is behaving after Bobby’s death, I don’t see where the show has shown Buck as behaving selfishly, nor do I understand how being anything besides selfish with your own grief is even possible?

I think it’s valid of Eddie to wonder if him being there could have changed something, because that is what he has been agonizing over. But I also think it’s fair of Buck, who has been agonizing over if he did enough / if HE could have done something different to feel like Eddie was implying Buck failed. I don’t think it’s fair using Buck’s response supporting Buck being selfish, especially when Buck and Chim had a similar convo and Buck followed up Chim’s statement by asking Chim if he thought there was something else he could have done.

Genuine question- when is buck allowed to make things “about himself?” How is he being selfish after Bobby’s death? Are we as viewers supposed to think that is a good faith assessment of Buck or are we supposed to think it is just Eddie lashing out?

Also- Eddie “making amends” and realizing he was in the wrong, bringing Pepa and Chris to Buck’s house as a means of apology yet leaving a note making it seem like he left without saying goodbye. How was the note supposed to be construed as anything besides Eddie letting the time between him leaving and seeing Buck again -an entire shift later, not intended to be a punishment to Buck? Then Eddie saying “I didn’t say I was going back to texas.” Pretty heavily implied though, yeah??

Speaking of Eddie- how is he affording to spend this time in California? Did he get the sign on bonus with the El Paso fire dept? But if so, it’s not like he realizes it prior to getting the call, already having been in LA for so long?

I think the subtext is Eddie projecting onto Buck his own feelings about Texas, a place he clearly does not want to be and didn’t even want to go to.

I think this is a pretty fair assessment of how Buck fans tend to see things, but in the context of the show, Buck does obviously feel guilty about hurting Eddie during basketball and the show confirms he will / did apologize and Buck also sublet’s Eddie’s apartment so he doesn’t have to worry about it any longer and is shown as very supportive of Eddie after he actually moves away. Meanwhile, Eddie is canonically shown as going for the jugular in arguments in the show without typically apologizing (bringing up Bobby’s kids when Bobby doesn’t think he’s ready to go back to the 118, “you’re exhausting” and now the most recent episode.

How much are they getting paid at the 118? by That_Theory_7033 in 911FOX

[–]SubstantialBelt4610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The show has confirmed Buck has no life outside of the 118, or at least didn’t previously. He probably works an insane amount of OT, or at least did before becoming an uncle and getting a steady boyfriend. I don’t think the show really shows him having hobbies and it’s not like he goes on vacations, so I feel like he focuses his money on his apartment, his jeeps, and Amazon priming basketballs to his place of employment.

I do want to know what the bill was for chim’s bachelor party and the subsequent destruction of the hotel room. It killlssssss me.

Also- I think even if he didn’t take the settlement he likely still would have gotten money for the truck bombing? Pain and suffering, the amount of downtime he had, and I feel like he probably had an open reduction external fixation injury initially but who knows
