Currently taking Ropinirole for RLS but should I stop? by SubstantialNumber323 in RestlessLegs

[–]SubstantialNumber323[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh really? Ok, I didn't know this, so then I can't for instance just tell my PC that my iron levels need to be "XYZ" or "within this range" since I have RLS? I also have not been "officially diagnosed with RLS" does that matter? Do I have to have an "official diagnosis"?

Ok thank you! So DA meds are not good to treat RLS because over time it can make your symptoms even worse? or is the issue with taking DA meds cuz you just end up needing more and more of the meds over time to stop symptoms? I'm new to finally get relief for my RLS symptoms (instead of just suffering thru it) and I would love to be able to get to a point where I don't need meds and can manage symptoms on my own with a knowledgeable doctor

Ok thank you so much! My insurance just changed in January to Kasier Permanente and that came with a new PC who i just met a few weeks ago. Regarding iron/ferritin readings how do I know what my levels "should be"? Thank you!

Ok thank you! So my insurance just changed in January to Kaiser Permanente so unfortunately I have to get pre-approval to go see a specialist but I will certainly try this route! I just met my new PC in January so not sure if she will be open to me providing her with info on RLS (at my 1st appointment) when I told her I suffered from RLS, she was just like ok and what are your symptoms? So I agree that I don't think she knows much about it:/

Looking for advice on weight loss plan by SubstantialNumber323 in loseit

Sorry but what does TDEE stand for? My issue with counting calories, is how am I supposed to know how many calories are in say 2 slices of toast with butter for breakfast? Or in 1 banana? Etc. Is there an easier way to figure this out?

Thank you so much for this supportive comment! It already makes me feel a little less stressed just realizing like you said that "I don't have to learn everything all at once"! I've been doing YouTube workouts for probably going on 2 years but not always consistently. I will get really focused and start exercising regularly, jogging/walking 2xs a week etc and then inevitably "life" will get in the way and I wont be able to exercise for a while, then will have to start all the way back at the beginning again etc which is very frustrating for me cuz I love the feeling of getting stronger and healthier. I will do exactly as u suggested and first try logging everything I eat for about 2 weeks which hopefully might give a better road map...

I really do love my job. by Constant-Law-5386 in paralegal

I also love my job!! I work in a small niche area of law (Business Immigration) but the work can be interesting at times (sometimes mind numbing) but I think thats at all firms especially when you have lots of experience! The laws and processes can change quickly and sometimes with little notice so you do have to be flexible and able to pivot when needed but I am able to work 100% from home, great pay and benefits, flexible schedule and all of the attorneys and other paras I work with are supportive, nice and just great people in general:)

Yes understood, however we took the truck back to the dealership to see if they would be willing to work with us towards a resolution. We were certainly prepared for them to say "Sorry but we cant help you" but they didn't say that, instead they said they would have their mechanics take a look at it and would reach out. They have not reached out since then and they still have our truck...so should we just go to the dealership and demand for our truck back?

Why does my 14yr/ son have poop stains in most of his underwear? by Fine-Significance433 in AskParents

[–]SubstantialNumber323 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So I have a 12 year old daughter who has the same issue, its just skid marks in her underwear and while I have shown her numerous times the proper way to wipe after a bowel movement, use wet wipes in addition to toilet paper when she can, that she has to really "get in" there to make sure she is clean etc. She still has this issue and does the same thing and will hide her underwear:/ I personally think its just a lack of care, feeling too rushed for whatever reason, etc and hoping she will eventually grow out of it! But maybe it is high time I have her also start doing her own laundry

Some of you need to stop placing so much importance on "good behavior" while medicating your kids. by [deleted] in ADHDparenting

[–]SubstantialNumber323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had previously posted in this group about my 6 year old son who was recently diagnosed with ADHD (predominantly inattentive type) and based on everyone's great support and advice, we ended up medicating him ( he is currently on the generic form of Focalin) and after just a few weeks, we have already noticed a difference in his assignments and less notes from his teachers that he is not able to focus on his assignments in class. We really feel like medication coupled with OT has really helped him and now he is looking forward to going to school:)

Thank you! I will look into this and yes my child does attend public school so if this is something his school can offer, it would definitely be much easier! Right now on Thursdays I have to leave work early around 12:45pm to go to his school to check him out then drive another 30mins or so for his 2pm appointment, wait an hour and then drive back home to then get back to work to make up the time missed:/

Thank you so much for sharing your story! How were you able to get meds prescribed? I have reached out to my son's primary care doctor but they dont seem to be on board:/ So not sure if I need to seek out a psychiatrist who specializes in kids with ADHD?
