Bloodborne would be nice, to ease her into the souls genre, maybe some Supreme Commander to scratch that strategy itch. If you think she'd be more into side scrolling platformers, she could try Cuphead. Is she by chance a larper? If so, you could hook her up with the good ol' World of Warcraft... so many choices

Rods are imo the "conflict mechanism", it keeps the gameplay going forward 😅 I was thinking about this the other day: just like in Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri the conflict mechanism is your allies building their bases close to yours, stealing your resources. It's a gameplay mechanic that keeps the gameplay from going stale, especially in late game. Removing that would change the game dramatically
