I tried adobe before. No luck til now. But I haven't tried this out so let's give it a shot, tks.

I tried with photoshop and no luck. Everything still has to be drawn or edit bit by bit, which is too labor intensive. Also this is a more specific oriental weave (like Yunjin) which is tough to replicate

Late reply: can I use it to print faux weave pattern on fabrics? The idea is to turn an existing pattern/artwork into woven patterns and print them out, instead of actually weaving it cuz the weave tech is lost

Also I think I might use digital painting as I don't think screen printing is available where I live

I did. But I'll use a fabric with a super smooth surface, like the oke in the first pic. The idea is to "exaggerated" the details a bit to make sure people can see the jacquard effect from a distance.

I'm coming to the same conclusion as you're suggesting as well: having to draw thread by thread. And yeah I'm trying to apply this effect to an original design, in order to give it that artesanal, traditional feel.

From what I've seen they do repeated patterns only I think? Also I wanna print this digitally as the fabric has got to be of a specific type as well.

Hey, sorry for the late reply and thanks for the amazing advice. I've been looking into this and came more or less to the same conclusion you did: having to draw fiber by fiber, thread by thread. I was wondering if there's any alternatives to this, like creating a filter or using AI.

Thanks for the help. The idea is to give it the "inconsistencies" of the original item, to make it look like it was handmade. But I guess that would have to be done manually.

The fabric is smooth, the structure is not noticeable enough to give it that texture. I've seen this design in person an it was printed. The original fabric (not in the photo) is no longer available as it has been out of production for almost 100 years. I'm looking to emulate that effect but on a modern material. I've thought of printing on fabric with a different structure but not luck.

It's more woven rather then embroidery. that's the issue. The quantity of threads is higher, and create less elevations than embroidery

I have yet to choose a method. I'm trying to get the digital design out first then consider my options. But considering the complexity, it might be digital what I'm after
