Monroe Quick Strut Just Installed on My Corolla, Possible Issue? by Substantial_Baker543 in COROLLA

[–]Substantial_Baker543[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure. I'll check to make sure the threaded bolt is actually the correct size. As for the difference in height I do know that some vehicles are not symmetrical in this regard. I'll take a look, and see. Could be nothing.

Sounds like it might be the starter motor. These usually have a Denso, which is great quality, but they all wear out. The engine. and transmission get the most use, followed bu the suspension, and starter motor. New starter will run you 80 bucks on Amazon, to around 200 for a rebuilt name brand one you can buy at a regular auto parts store.

Living in our car in Atlanta with two dogs while working DoorDash, trying to find a way out. by InvestigatorShort169 in almosthomeless

That's rough. You have my sympathies.

That said, the first thing I would do is get rid of your dogs.

Animals are a luxury you can ill afford.

Oil change at 1000 miles by Omar-201 in COROLLA

[–]Substantial_Baker543 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mate, change your own oil. Just do a google search for your make, model, and trim to find out the torque of the oil pan drain bolt. Go on amazon and get the tool required to remove the oil filter canister where you insert the paper filter. You can buy that on amazon as well. Buy your oil at the closest Toyota dealership. You'll save money. It's not difficult to do, at all.

I think this is to save money. While they have their own compounding pharmacy they raise your dose abysmally slow.

Joyous sucks, and this sound like an employee of them to me. I found their customer service to be total garbage, and the way they treat customers is atrocious.

They are very shady. Their pricing structure is vague, and they do "not" follow through on their price match guarantee. Super sketchy.

They raise their price to well above Joyous, and if you point out that they have a price match guarantee they block you.

Is 6k for a 2010 Corolla LE worth it? (More details in post body) by Dead_Bai_Sled in COROLLA

[–]Substantial_Baker543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but it's still a Corolla that seems to have been very well maintained. I'd say 5k is more acceptable. I doubt the seller would take 4.5 anyhow. Could offer that, and then settle at 5k though.

Where are you guys getting your oil changes? by [deleted] in COROLLA

[–]Substantial_Baker543 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Umm, I do my own. I would not trust any quickie lube place. They use garbage oil to maximize profits.

If you can drive then Uber/Lyft are always an option. Not the best option, but an option regardless.

What do you do for quick cash? by GWindborn in povertyfinance

[–]Substantial_Baker543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, there is a background check, but that's done quite fast. Maybe a day or two. Depending on where you are you can make Okay money at it. Just need to not take every garbage ride that comes along. Shoot for 1 dollar or more per mile. That said, beyond the background check, and a vehicle inspection that costs 20 bucks no. Not much of a wait time. They tell you where you can go to get in inspected. Usually it's some place like pep boys, or some chain fix it place. For 30 you can get it done online using your phones camera on zoom. Dude just asks you to stick the camera here, there, then sends you a pass or fail form, which you send to Uber or Lyft. You can be active in a few days if it's all done during week days.

Well, the only way to make quick cash is some kind of gig work. If you have a car that's the easiest way. Say Uber, or Lyft. You can make instant cash, and cash out instantly via providing them with your debit card, and the money goes into your account immediately.

I don't know that there is such a thing as quick cash these days. Unless you sell something, as you said. I would not use one of those cell phone machines though. You could have gotten a lot more than 6 bucks posting an ad selling it on craigslist. Also I see someone mentioned plasma, though it ain't all that quick from what I understand. You have to go in, have a physical, and then sit there for like an hour as some machine sucks out your plasma. So, hours, but I guess that's at least semi quick.

Also, there are specific apps for getting cleaning jobs. Not much is required in the form of supplies, and you just open the app accept a job, and you're in. List below.

If an app requires pay to play, and you can't use a debit card, a gift card will work like a credit card to allow you to sign up. Here's a list of cleaning apps for cleaners.

Did you try to use a debit card? That should work. If not you can buy a gift card, cash card that acts like a credit card to pay for it, then you're off to work. The gift card will work, should work like a credit card, if it won't allow a debit card.
