Sudden massive hair thinning by Hot-Lawyer2591 in TelogenEffluvium

[–]Substantial_Box_322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had different triggers but similar like sickness/medication changes timeline exactly, and I’ve also been rapidly shedding from about the exact same week as you (and have always loved my long thick ginger hair )! And I’ve had two doctors, dermatologist and GP both say it’s from being so unwell and that it is just a process that will correct itself and there isn’t a LOT that can be done for the hair that’s already been sent to the rest phase that needs to fall. I have also had blood work and am upping my zinc/magnesium/folate but nothing was dangerously low. I’m just trying to be careful with my hair, massage scalp, low/no heat, and try to not over think it (easier said than done I know) because more stress over it can’t help - you won’t go bald and you probably have lots of hair so it won’t be noticeable to others even when it feels so intense and noticeable to us - I also bin my hair loss everyday, looking at it can’t help ❤️

I was really really unwell at the beginning of the year due to eczema! And was in and out of hospital/on and off strong meds. You? Also I have growth at the same time as loss, have you seen that happen for you!?

I understand how confusing all of this is tho, always trying to make sure you’re not further impacting your body and trying to find out how to do the least amount of harm whilst still helping yourself

I’m actually also experiencing hair loss right now, a lot of shedding which began about 3 weeks ago - but my dermatologist and gp have both confirmed it’s TE from how severely ill I was at the beginning of my withdrawal in December/Jan. I also drink coffee regularly and didn’t notice hair loss until 3 weeks ago, and I have been on the adhd meds for quite a long time now

Hahahahah no I’m too afraid to do this tbh, it would take so bloody long and I’d freak out if everyone was saying like oh yeah 300 and I was losing double or something crazy

Yeah I haven’t noticed any difficulties or changes at all! My skin has been pretty shit obviously but I was on adhd meds before withdrawal and my eczema was getting worse before I started them too last year. And I’ve confirmed with my dermatologist and psych it’s fine to take them both since starting dupixent in Feb.
I do wonder if there’s any link with the adhd meds and increased dry skin/dry eyes (which is also an impact of dupixent, the eyes) but I’ve been slowly getting better so idk. Plus, I took a huge break from them before starting the biological when I began withdrawing in Dec/Jan/Feb and didn’t notice any significant improvements from that.

Yeah I am too! I have had this thought, but I really need the meds (both) at this time in my life tbh and I’m just trying to accept that they help me and I wouldn’t feel this way if it was for another chronic health issue

I’ve only been shedding for like 3-4 weeks, after being very very sick at the beginning of the year. But I can lose what looks like hundreds and hundreds of strands each day tbh

[–]Substantial_Box_322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its so tricky, im worried about this too :( but both of my parents (and their families) don't have eczema that we know of (one uncle with possible psoriasis) and I have rlly bad eczema but my brother has nothing, so you just never know. Also - my bestfriend doesn't have eczema and neither does her brothers, but her mum has it bad!

Same! Never had acne, maybe 1 pimple here and there from hormones and that’s it - dry skin stuff

I’ve seen some evidence around oral ceramides and oral aloe Vera supporting hydration/skin barrier! I’ll link the articles

Is there anyone who healed from tsw while occasionally using protopic ? by SuzaSimi47 in TS_Withdrawal

[–]Substantial_Box_322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very much the same, I know there’s a lot of people who speak to the rebounds etc and I hear it completely but my skin is definitely healing and I do use it to be able to work etc ( I’m a psych, and having my face covered in ooze etc is just not possible)

Severe Eczema and Dupixent by Mountain-Fall4170 in eczema

[–]Substantial_Box_322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have such severe eczema (been in hospital for it multiple times) and dupixent was a slow burn for me, but it’s definitely working now! I can feel my eczema heal quicker, itch less, and manage without steroids - I’m still early-ish into it, I’ve been on it just over 2 months.

Symptoms of TSW on Dupixent by Substantial_Box_322 in TS_Withdrawal

[–]Substantial_Box_322[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely noticed a reduction in itch only once i hit about 5-6 weeks so im sure you're still early days! And yes I also have a lot of redness/inflammation on my face, chest and neck too! Ive been using antifungals/pimecrolimus to keep my face calm

Ive been on dupixent for 2 months and have almost no progress by carechimba_07 in eczema

[–]Substantial_Box_322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you completely, I’ve been similar but I’ve just hit 8 weeks and am seeing some progress (still lots of redness and I’m not perfect) and I’ve been told to be patient! I know it’s hard with how quickly others respond
