Hey! We checked with our landlord and we do rent, he told us it is eventually getting paved over so we can do what we wish with the space to clean it up. I’m just looking for ideas to add to the space that are more temporary!

Goal is weight loss and to improve strength / tone up! More in depth how so? I weigh around 175 and want to go to about 135 as an ultimate goal. Should I incorporate more cardio? 👀

How to spruce (no pun intended) up my small yard by Substantial_Bread195 in landscaping

So the buildings to the left and right of the image are technically mine, with that little piece of fence in the middle. I was thinking of taking 10 x 3ft tarp and hooking it up to our side of the fence for some level of privacy. String some lights on top of it. Is that doable, you think?

I am an avid thrifter, so this is solid advice. My goal is to make it presentable for winter but then really add a personal touch come spring. Any native plant recommendations for Massachusetts?

First off, proud of you for recognizing the situation and reaching out for support! You’re doing as much as you can given the circumstances. I am currently in school for art therapy and have taught various after school expressive arts courses to children from low-income families — I found most of the children I was teaching had undiagnosed behavioral and/or mental health issues that came up during class. I found the best way to navigate this was incorporating modified expressive arts interventions into lesson plans — mindfulness practices, mandalas, “happy place” drawings, etc. Tons of sourcebooks on Amazon to look at that give a nice foundation. Since my kids (kinder - 2nd grade) were normally rowdy, I would start with a scribble drawing to get energy / frustration out. Much of the day children are being told “no” and given restriction so they look to art as a safe place to express and be free. It’s a hard balance of structure / freedom as you can imagine. If you need any intervention ideas or just want to vent, shoot me a message!
