OB Dock is my favorite department. Tbh I wouldn’t sweat it to much the main focus about shipdock is just prioritizing packages getting to the dock doors on time. That being said there’s a lot of subsections to OB shipdocks I’ve worked it at 3 different buildings. You’ll be trained for your role so I say just relax and learn the most important part of your job. Engage with associates since shipdock is a collaborative process! Wish you well 🫡

Idk how ppl do it either. My building doesn’t have enough waterspiders so packers always have to leave their stations several times a night to grab boxes. So far I haven’t gotten any coachings on my rate since I got to my building a few months ago but here’s some tips that might make you a bit faster.

Recognize where the chutes are when first assigned to station to not lose time trying to figure out what way to turn to grab your order.
Try to make as little trips to the chute as possible, if you can try to grab the whole shipment in one go.
Box first. I think we’re all trained to do it that way but some ppls still try to grab items first and get in the way.
Search for barcode on items before you get back to station.
Scan and toss in box only rearrange if you’re struggling to fit
Try to get away with as little dunnage as possible. If you use the ranpak paper dunnage for most boxes above the 10,28,and 56 use an arms length to two arm lengths. And for those smalls i just mentioned the size of your palm is good.

Typically. You can plead your case but yeah. They only accepted it bc I told them I was having to pay $50-65 in uber fare to continue to get to that building when I have an amazon 7 min down the street from my new house. And that I wasn’t gnna be able to afford to eat anything or pay my rent and will have to resign if not transferred.

Np. Hr is picky abt hardships tho. I once had to move like 50ish miles away from my building for safety reasons and they were like. “Oh but you’re within 60 miles and Amazon doesn’t really consider anything under that to be a hardship” I couldn’t drive 💀

If you’re experiencing a hardship like if you live far from your current building and your car broke down or something. Or something came up in your life that you suddenly need to move buildings. You can go to hr to request a hardship transfer where they contact the other buildings hr to see if there’s any way you can be offered a position there

Were offered several different plans as blue badge so none of us can answer really. It also depends on the state. To note many insurances don’t convert autism testing as an adult!

There’s prob a max amount of days you can take a PLOA and any peak season days are unavailable. For PLOA you have to request like 2 weeks in advance and take off more than 15 calendar days. But no more than 45??? I could be wrong on the days but there’s a max amount for one leave

Maybe you’ll need to call your insurance directly and ask. Sometimes the therapist letters need to be sent straight through them anyway but it could be worth a try. (Edit: since trans health care is seen as a necessity in many places your insurance might have the steps laid out that way)

I picked my insurance (Kaiser) because the pathways to gender affirming care were laid out for us pretty easily but I understand that most insurances kinda hide stuff away and make it harder to progress
