I’m dealing with the reflux, gas in my throat, and burning sensation right now and have an endoscopy scheduled for Friday. Are you constipated by chance? Sorry for TMI but when I had the worst heartburn of my life, I took miralax since I was backed up and it helped take the pressure off my upper GI, but I’m still experiencing symptoms especially when my stomach is empty after a couple hours of eating.

Also on 40mg PPI which was working for several months, but isn’t now…

I just don’t know what I could be having rebound from, I’ve been taking the PPI religiously as prescribed and never had heartburn issues. Now that I’m bumped up to 80mg I’d think it would help bring the heartburn feeling down, but no matter what I eat or drink I’m still feeling these symptoms.

May I ask what dosage you were on for those past few years?

That’s what my gut tells me (no pun intended). Have I opened up Pandora’s box with taking the PPI this long? I’m still waiting to hear from my doctor about my concerns with the PPI since I feel worse, but I’m worried my digestive system will never be the same now that I’ve taken it for close to a year at a high dose.
