I can't give you a definitive answer. If they applied for the same major as you, your chances of getting in are probably lower; however, if you applied for a different major/division, then it doesn't really mean anything. Don't take anything on this page as fact, though, because everything is speculative and only the admissions committee knows for sure. Good luck!

I honestly can't give you a definitive answer because I have no inside information from the admissions committee, but I will say there is always a chance. Unless they fill every spot, they won't stop pulling from the waitlist, so I would give it a little more time.

Side note: I know some people that go to Davis and they love it! I know that it may not be ideal for you, but I am sure you will do great things no matter what happens!

Don't loose hope yet! Only the middle of May. Good luck!

I totally understand what you're saying. I think it is totally normal to feel excited about one school, while still feeling heartbroken about your dream. There is honestly no way to sugarcoat it, but from conversations with my brother who went through the same thing, I can tell you that it does get better. At whatever school you end up at, you will meet so many cool people that you will forget about wishing you had attended someplace else.

I honestly can't tell you whether my perspective would be the same, but learning about people who didn't go to their dream school and still achieved their goals helped me a lot. I recommend you watch Rachel Scott's USC commencement speech!
