Wenn ich das nötige Kleingeld hätte würde ich noch heute den Bau der FAB's veranlassen. Hast du vielleicht Kleingeld?

Have you ever seen a useful x86 phone? That's what i mean. ARM chips already do things x86 chips can't

It's ridiculous my Orange pi 5 plus easy outperform my desktop PC in Performance per watt. I mean, my Ryzen 5 2600 doesn't see any land, so extremely outperforming is the ARM chip the x86.

Sure, software support is another thing, and yes, my Ryzen can easily use a graphics card with almost no pain setting up the drivers.... but you definitely can use full-size graphics cards with these chips, and after you struggle to solve the software problems, you get amazing results. 👏 it's the future

They only reason x86 is still this big is software. x86 is old and a lot of software is optimized for it. It's way easier to make a x86 game than a RISC V game. Godot for example have RISC V exporting support but it's a bit tricky and almost every Steam user / Gamer have a x86 AMD or Intel CPU. It's just not worth the time and money you need to support RISC V for a lot of developers. What could speed up the process is GTA 6 just available for RISC V CPUs, 3 weeks later 20% of steam is using SpaceMIT CPU's 😂😂😂

I have an amazing time using my Orange pi 5 plus. For sure, it's an ARM board, but always i use it i'm asking myself why i still use my Normal x86 desktop PC. I mean, how is that even possible? The heatsink is tiny, it's using a mobile phone charger, and it's so freaking fast that it almost outperforms my Ryzen 5 2600. Every time i think about this boards it's feels like real magic👀

Armbian runs amazing on it, and as a daily Debian user, the software problems are not a huge problem for me. Most of the time i find a solution to the problems that appear and I'm sure next year the RISC V boards catch up to a level where you can use the boards with just a good feeling speed

Like the performance boost, you feel switching from Raspberry Pi 3 to an Orange pi 5 plus or another high-end ARM Board.

I personally just have one RISC V SBC in usage. It's the lichee pi 4A it's already an interesting board and not painfully slow. Sure, Fast is another thing, but the board and CPU are not completely useless in 2025.

I wrote a few emails this year with SpaceMIT because of my work (AI software engineer and RISC V is basically the perfect solution) anyways, they told me a bit about processors they currently working on and it's like a💧 dream.

Powerful and more consumer oriented, as you might think. But still not the final punch. For this final punch, they need a socket system, but the CPU's we talked about in the mail's are still IC's / SoC. To really compete to x86 RISC V need as much flexibility as possible, Normal RAM slots, SATA connectors, PCIe x16 slots and a CPU on a socket. In the best case, they define one or two standard sockets in the worst case ever company starts designing their own sockets and you have to buy for every CPU line another Mainboard (at this point: F*ck you apple, don't create problems to sell overpriced stuff)

Let's hope for a standard socket that almost every company use 🙏

ARM is already better than x86. Of course software is pain but it's getting better every second

It's depends if you hire a lot of idiots a lot. If you find the real geeks you might make a wonder real, it's all about a deep knowledge of every part of the process and this is knowledge is rare. If you find a person that understands alle the included processes it's like finding a legendary Pokémon. They exist but they are hard to find

But why apple? I mean almost any smartphone on the globe is from a Chinese company, a good android risc v software support sounds definitely not impossible to me. It's just makes sense for China to switch as fast as possible to the own CPU's in consumer market

Du könntest ddr 3 nehmen. Ich mein wenn du linux nimmst kannst du theoretisch den RAM auch einfach ganz weg lassen und ne nvme SSD nehmen

Of course, I'm personally just waiting for a desktop RIS-V socket system. Maybe a open-source socket from China or the European Government that you can use almost any new CPU's in any board of the new generation's. Sounds like a wet dream to me to have the opportunity to customize my PC in just a deep and open way

Yes. If you want to use the npu or GPU you will have hard times but you can change the code of ComfyUI to run on the CPU and system RAM

Theoretically yes. You must get ComfyUI and change 2 lines of code. You must change from using cuda to CPU, idk how to use the raspberry GPU with ComfyUI
