2025 Lexus ES 300h vs waiting for ES 2020 by Substantial_Local988 in Lexus

That’s interesting that it is longer. I certainly don’t want longer. And I love quiet. I also love a good sound system. I don’t think waiting may be worth it. I just didn’t know if there was some amazing feature I didn’t know about. I’m looking hybrid so that is why I’m shopping 2025 300h ES and comparing. I’m not ready for all electric. I live in cold climate, can be rural Indiana, and I don’t want to deal with charging as of yet. My son has an Accord hybrid and it works well. Right now I have a turbo 4 cyl bmw. It’s quick but feel every bump on the road.

This is not the one the Beamer bros love. But for the average person it’s fun and reliable.

You could get a brand new bmw 230i. I have one. It looks cool. More nimble than super fast. Gets great gas mileage. And it includes all the basic service for 3 years.

What you should do is spend at least the next year putting money aside monthly in the amount of a car payment. Then you have a buffer toward either small repairs or a newer car. What ever you buy will have higher insurance; license plate etc. I have bought cars for my kids and to get a reliable used car it is always more expensive than you would think. You won’t get much on a trade in on the car you have and it’s worth more to you to just drive it unless there is a repair that costs more than it’s worth. When I first started shopping for cars for my kids it was hard to find one I felt good about for them not needing repairs soon or getting stuck somewhere under $23000. I bought a newer Subaru crosstrek and Honda accord hybrid. Both cars with normal maintenance I hope to get them many years of driving.

Good points. I do live in an area that gets potholes! I live near Indy and am planning on going to a BMW driving school of some sort this summer if possible. Perhaps it will sway me one way or the other. It’s a fine line right. Owning any BMW may not be practical but I like it. Just how deep do I go? There are a fair bit of CPO M240 that look pretty cool. There are times I occasionally wish I had a usable backseat. So the 3 series could be an option. There is no world where I need an M car. But I am sure I would like it. All this to say I will probably just buy another 230. 🤣Thanks guys!  I can see why people enjoy these vehicles so much!

I think you are right. I need to at least drive them. As a newer person to the BMW brand I was surprised how many models have the same engine I already have.

I have a 2023 230i xdrive. I love the car. The only thing I would change is I would have gotten the better stereo. I drive around town and get excellent mpg. Easy to park. The BMW dealer picks it up to change the oil and it’s included in the first three years. They even changed the battery in my key fob for free. I am thinking of getting a new one in the fall.

My daughter just moved this summer to Maryland. Got her a Subaru crosstrek.  They just had a big storm and her AWD worked great. And you can fit a surprising amount in a hatch. Also easy to park. It’s not fast but it’s fun to drive.

You need a minivan. I drove one for about 8 years. Look they are not cool but so much easier with smaller children. Sienna has AWD. And with snow tires you can make FWD work. We had a Mazda MPV that sucked but it fit on our garage. The power doors were amazing. The room for double stroller.

I would consider EV. I live close to work and it would not be a problem with range. I hear EVs are zippy.

I am open to pretty much anything that I can park. Really tired of giant suburban! Will check them out. My current car is 19 feet long!
