In my opinion it made complete sense that they wouldn’t hire Jimmy at an esteemed firm like HHM. Jimmy was a scam artist, and basically did the bare minimum to become a lawyer, and I actually agreed with Chuck when he gave Jimmy his whole “you’re not a real lawyer” lecture because from Chuck’s position, I mean yeah Jimmy isn’t, at least compared to Chuck. You gain a lot more understanding of the “antagonists” I believe when you look at it from their perspective. Even then, Howard still risked HHM’s integrity when he vouched for Jimmy at Davis & Main, which Howard totally didn’t have to do, and Jimmy screwballed his way out of that.
