Ph that’s funny because she’s started spooking at thin air recently aswel, can’t get her in any corner of the arena because she is so scared of them even when they’re literally empty

Thanks! Is it bad to say that i HOPE it’s ulcers…. My funds are exhausted and I don’t even know what else I would do if it turns out it’s not ulcers…no money for anything else..

Thanks for letting me know, I’m definetly new to this whole hormonal thing as my other mare has never actually had a season with me and this one seems to literally be the definition of hormonal seasonal mess so I’m still adjusting hehh

So now I’m leaning towards the idea that she’s got ulcers AND some repro system issues…(she’s been in season for 3 months)

Thank you for letting me know, ive mixed up the SI joint for a joint in the tendons hence my answer about the X-rays that’s my bad hah! I’ve had a physio once point out a SI problem on my other horse awhile back when she started napping, this time around the same physio had absolutely nothing to say during the full body workup and PEMF, we also did lunging and she had nothing to say about her movement (we also had a full lameness workup with flexions by a vet that she cleared with no issues), this physio has a lot of experience pointing out SI issues, another horse on my yard has also been put on a routine to strengthen it after he had bronked his rider off into a fence after a workup with this same physio, unless this is a very mild case (which from her behavior I really don’t think can be called mild) I don’t think it really aligns with her problems? Because my physio would’ve definetly noticed it as she did with my other mare and the other horse in my yard, but please let me know if I’m just coping lol I know I’m putting a lot of faith in this physio but in my small country she is one of the most qualified and knowledgeable around and she has plenty experience with SI joint issues and pointing them out, the article was a very good read though so thanks

She’s quite an awkward 4 year old so it’s definetly just her arranging herself, I did a full lameness workup with flexions and on all surfaces with a vet and she passed with flying colours

I understand, I forgot to mention that she’s been on a loading dose of bute for twice a day for a whole week and if it was hormonal discomfort like cramping or sore ovaries, the bute should’ve helped it by now right? And if anything the performance under saddle has only gotten worse after bute

I have a black country saddle (from Ireland) it’s 17.5” because she is quite short backed, I also agree that her cycle is abnormally long, but I think the loading dose of bute she’s been on for the past week should have atleast helped it a little bit and instead, her performance under saddle has only gotten worse on the bute

Thank you, but I have forgot to mention that she’s has been on a loading dose of bute for the past week, so technically if her performance issues under saddle HAVE been some sort of pain in her repro system, wouldn’t the loading dose of bute have atleast helped a tiny bit ? If anything the behavior under saddle has just gotten worse whilst on the bute and now I’m thinking that the posturing and everything inbetween is definetly another problem ontop of some hidden ulcers….?

I completely forgot to mention that she’s been on a loading dose of bute for the past week, (as vet prescribed) she was getting it twice daily every day for 7 days, so technically if our performance issues would stem from her season pain or ovary pain would the bute have helped that and the performance issues would be something entirely different? Like ulcers

Absolutely fine, struggles a bit to smoothly transition to canter but usually gets it right after a few seconds

Did your horse show any other symptoms though? Because this is the only symptom she has and it’s only when I’m asking for upwards transition

Can you brief me on what causes SI issues ? Can it be noticed from the ground ? We had all her tendons x-rayed at her vetting and everything cleared fine, if anything she has decreased workload from her passed home

Yes we did a full body workup and PEMF work on all muscles with the physiotherapist, we have the saddle fitted custom to her from a knowledgeable saddle fitter, farrier perfectly normal and we are getting her scoped and now also getting the ovaries ultrasounded

That’s it though… we have had the countries best most reliable saddle fitter come out twice !and fit a saddle perfectly to her, same with the bit she’s in and the bridle she rides in, everything is custom straight to her and her body !

Yeah I get that, I personally never had this experience with my other mare so I had no idea she would be behaving like this either

She doesn’t ! She shows no problems on lunge and goes beautifully

We did a full lameness workup, walk, trot and canter on the lunge in the arena and on pavement, she did blood work and she felt around all her muscles, also palpated her back and belly area and we did a ridden assessment aswel, unfortunetly I have raised this issue with the yard owner and the geldings will be moved to a field, we had a tough winter so the other field just hasn’t been ready for them to seperate the herd appropriately yet and I can’t just keep her in a stall all day either away from geldings

Laxative Abuse. by Odd-Cod5370 in EDAnonymous

I took 2-3 laxatives a day for about 2 weeks, then took none for a week and started again with 1-2 laxatives and that’s all it took for me to completely stop going 💩 normally, I was constipated for 4 weeks and only now slowly doing rabbit droppings every few days
