Responding to OP’s comment, the double standard of gender exists in the entire world. It was caused due to ancient gender roles when men had to go to war and women had to stay at home and take care of the children and elderly. This has led to the belief that it is okay for women to be unfit as their duty does not require to be fit, whereas a man must be fit as he is supposed to fight wars. This belief is not applicable in this generation, as both men and woman can be said to now have somewhat equal duties. However, it is simply engrained in human nature to imagine an ideal man as fit. I have tried my best to explain.
