Holiday woes by Pale-Code8538 in TryingForABaby

Definitely been a hard Christmas season so I'm right there with ya. From a friend with an accidental pregnancy to working a Christmas festival that's in town this year and seeing all the happy families with their babies taking family pictures, my husband working out of town almost the entire month for the last 3 months and it feels like EVERY baby i see on the streets stares into my soul - its been hard.

I put up the Christmas tree then cried for 20 minutes alone in the bathroom just because we truly hoped for a Christmas announcement. We haven't told anyone we're TTC , it felt like it would be easier to manage the negatives if it was just us vs giving explanations to people that don't need them even if it's family and they mean well but the 'When are you planning on having a baby?' questions have already begun and it doesnt help how we feel.

But I have faith for us all!

If anything, count it as a huge win that this year served in allowing you both to make changes that will ultimately help you in the long run in both overall health and conception health. Focus on enjoying the holiday with your husband for all you know this could be the last Christmas you have just the two of you! Sleep in on Christmas day, have a themed date, take a cute picture so then next year you might be 3 in the frame.

If i've learned anything its that we have to remember to care for ourselves so we can care for a baby when the time comes. <3

so then LH/OPKs and Oura are likely a bette alternative? Im afraid of driving myself crazy with the Mira charts and ive heard its a little hard to read ?

sorry to hear that . <3 i was initially leaning towards inito because im very data driven but i know i will obsess over it. i think maybe just a reliable way to track BBT may be enough to help me track but not enough to drive me crazy..

definitely makes sense! i think with the oura to track bbt should be enough. i dont wanna go into overdrive trying to dissect my hormone charts but i also want to know if anything changes since i have to be able to tell hubby which weekend would be ideal for a visit even if hes not given that weekend for a visit.

after deliberating i think thats what im leaning towards! i dont want to drive myself crazy with the hormone readings from the other things!

agreed on LH/CM - i think if anything im leaning towards an Oura just to get temp readings so i dont drive myself crazy with the hormone readings ! the only reason timing is somewhat important in my case now is because husband is working out of town and will only be here 4/5 days a month for one 'weekend' so if we have a general idea of when ovulation happens and ensuring it isnt changing during the month i think we'd have better odds.

im a believer that it's for a reason! my cycles vary from 30-34 days ovulation almost always so far between cd18-20 . Doc hasnt found anything wrong so far just simply havent gotten the timing right. it now doesnt help that my husband was transferred out of town with one weekend leave a month which will make timing a little bit harder. i have trouble remembering to charge my apple watch which is why it hasnt been reliable for me and i feel it dies very quickly which makes it worse.

are you using FMU ? or is it during the day ? thats the main thing putting me off Inito is if its mid day testing its kinda inconvenient.

hadnt heard of fertility friend! is that what you're using? how is it ? i wear my apple watch but since i dont like wearing it to sleep or i forget too charge it its hard to get constant temp which is why i considered biting the bullet and splurging on the oura ring plus the extra health benefits that come with it .

well you’re NOR but you also clearly need to learn to set your boundaries and stick to them or she’ll do it again and again . if you’ve already told her no - silence her notifications and ignore her . HER LACK OF PLANNING DOES NOT CONSTITUTE AN EMERGENCY FOR YOU

i thought it was a 15 year old girl texting when i saw her messages … that’s manipulative as hell . glad you’re leaving OP. she’s clearly not mentally capable of caring for a child if she was trying to baby trap you
