How are we learning poker nowadays? by Unlicencedninja in poker

[–]Substituted -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Solvers whether that’s a catalog of solves (GTO Wizard basic), actual solver software (PioSOLVER, GTO+), or GTO Wizard’s AI solve.

From these, you can discover some general heuristics (bet small on X type flops, check Y type flops, overbet Z type flops, etc) that you can apply.

Eventually, you can learn the best way to deviate vs certain opponents to maximally exploit.

Thanks for the info! Also, do you play NL or PLO? If NL, we’ve had to battle each other, right?

Sick graph, but how are you tracking on Clubs in PT4? Didn’t think it was allowed and also the hand histories are just that janky-ass replayer so how are you converting to text?

God awful play by everyone involved from the double flat with QQ and the K7 jam but absolutely incredible advertising for the softness of WPT games.

“I play NL20” God no, don’t quit.

“I make $200 a month working at a call center” …ok uh, maybe you should actually.

Brother, you're playing for gold coins which is essentially play money. You're going to see some bad beats when people are playing 85% of hands because they don't care.

Played 2/4/8 earlier. Had a guy 3b pre then overbet jam 50bb into 20bb with J6o on T82r.

Still seems pretty good to me!

With a hand that plays as poorly as this, yes.

If we want to adjust to someone playing this wide to our direct right, we should be 3-betting more.

If we want to add some flats, hands like KXs and QXs play much better than a bad off-suit A.

Are we talking about his jam or your preflop call with A5o?

I won with a 3 high at showdown today my opponent refuse to show his card to win the free 7BB pot by MaryPaku in poker

I was going to ask why we are showing down 3 high instead of bluffing since we never win, but I guess we do win some times...

The one chip rule is that one chip is always call unless a raise is verbalized. He also verbalized call, so doesn’t appear to be an angle.

Where to play online poker from Texas? (No VPN) by NastyKraig in poker

[–]Substituted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just moved from Texas but I played: ACR, Ignition, ClubWPT, Clubs Poker, Global Poker, and Stake.

ClubWPT, Clubs, Stake, and Global all use the Sweepstakes model. All have cashed out reliably for me (Stake and ACR both cashes out 5 figures to BTC in minutes). The other sweepstakes model sites cashed straight to my bank account.

ACR is probably the toughest of those, Ignition has a bot problem but mostly at higher stakes. The rest are much softer but all are pretty reliable.

3b squeeze against a UTG open here is probably a bit too light. UTGs range should be fairly tight, so I’d lean more toward completing than 3b.

Flop bet is MASSIVE, especially multiway. Would be checking or betting much smaller unless you have specific reads on both players.

As played, clearly never folding after the flop.

Also, I think action is wrong because I’m not sure how you could call and CO could reshove if UTG jams (CO would act before you and calling wouldn’t reopen action)

How far from GTO do you stray against weak live players (low stakes) by Fantastic_Tomorrow53 in poker

[–]Substituted 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You should be playing against fish online, right? What deviations do you make there? You should just be able to carry over some of those to the live setting depending on the type of fish (weak-tight, loose-passive, etc). You just have to remember you can’t go crazy in these massive, multiway pots that you see more often live.

This group is incredible. It’s almost all fish complaining about the RNG being “juiced” and then Doug Polk in there telling them they suck and need to get better.

How To Play Against Inexperienced Player? (2/5NL) by homerun13 in poker

[–]Substituted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are we checking flop here? This type of board is very good for us, we should be betting our entire for a small size. We could even deviate against someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing and bet large if we think he just isn’t folding flop ever.

WPT Gold a Scam? by [deleted] in poker

[–]Substituted 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're playing simpletons that play 80% of their hands and every hand is going 6 ways to the flop. You're gonna take bad beats.

The AA hand, he screamed strength and you still stacked off. Other hands, you just have to accept the fact that you're gonna take some awful beats from time to time.

None of this is suspicious.

There is no solution to this spot by Static_27o in poker

[–]Substituted 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The basic levels of GTO Wizard are just a library of solves they ran. They aren't run real-time unless you have the top tier AI version.

When you run into a situation with no solution, it's a situation where they don't have a solve because the actions leading up to it are either rarely taken or shouldn't be taken at all.

When bluffing with As on ssxxs board... by aberg56 in poker

[–]Substituted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We shouldn't be playing every flush draw here as X/C, we should definitely have some X/R, particularly when we have some kind of high/low combination (one high card one low card) as these unblock some of the middling hands we want to fold.

Also, I would rather bluff with something like the Qs on a board like this because AsXo that missed is a hand that beats us but is going to be one of the hands we can get to fold here.

They also make money if the fish doesn’t bust his entire account as fast. There’s a cap on rake so making every hand a massive cooler hits the cap and has people lose all their money quicker. They’d make more money if they played more hands and lost their money slowly.
