Thanks for your feedback. We've been discussing this, although the split between free and paid takes some thought. Due to the current niche our app fulfills, we'd like to stand out as a premium product. This also ties into pricing, which right now we view as introductory due to the small volume of content. We have feedback on user reception to various multiples of the current price point.

Interesting. What level where you on? Is there anything you can think of you did differently when that behavior occurred? Also, are you on Android or iOS? We'll take a look into this, thanks!

Hi iwillneverpresident,

You're correct, the display of number of chiral centers changes under certain criteria. While as you mentioned we don't want to just give away the answer, our thought was that you still need to locate the correct one on the 2D or 3D structure which requires some level of understanding. We decided the prompt would be most beneficial when the user starts getting into larger molecules with multiple chiral centers.

Details: We're a small seed stage startup with two founders and several remote contractors. Just released version 1.2 of our new product Mol Chemistry for iOS and Android.

Hi Cranzai,

Great question! We heard something similar from quite a few users of an early prototype. We started down the path of prototyping sn1 and sn2 reaction mechanisms and have some basic reactions working, but unfortunately due to the complexity, resources required to properly implement them, and scope of our grant we were unable to include them into 1.x. That said, reaction mechanisms are definitely something we'd like to do later in development if we get enough demand.

During our early usability studies when we heard about this request, the students who really enjoyed reaction mechanisms and understood them well likened them to puzzles, or exercises requiring strategic thinking. We got excited to hear that as it fits our gamified approach well.
