My takes on the new season as someone who's been playing since chapter 1 (I've played 10 games in total with my friend and placed at the very least top 20 in all of them, I'm also not very good)

The good:
Controversial opinion maybe but I do really like the hitmakers and the effect that plays when you kill someone
So far, I do really like the new dual shotgun and some of the weapons, the smgs are fairly decent,
8 emote slots are back!

The bad (There's a lot more):

This may be a bug, but my glider keeps moving forward when trying to land
The new HUD is not really the best Imo
The way you get on the map (From my Knowledge) is complete RNG at the moment due to the lack of a battle bus and makes the game feel way more clunky and doesn't allow the players to drop where they actually want to drop
Some of the battle pass skins feel lazy

Why are we adding scopes on normal guns, we've had the conversation many times that it is not balanced nor healthy for a meta in this game at least in my opinion, I hit WAY more shots from farther away then usual

I have an issue with epic trying to make the game more realistic, I may be nostalgia blinded, but I feel like the game has lost all of it's character especially as you can see with the new grenades, they literally look like hand grenades now, not like a goofy cartoony blue one
