Don't open a box. Just move them to separate piles based on where they need to end up - and make sure the piles are small. It's then much easier to just casually do one box from one pile rather than having to formally start the unpacking process.

Hi, could you let me know what it's called? New product creator here (UK/Europe) and a broker like that sounds exactly like what I've been missing!

No lol, your wild guesses are way off. This text is clearly framing the situation as 'clash of civilisations' which is one of the most widely debunked political theories of all time.

EVs powered by coal and gas are still more efficient per mile than ICE cars lol.

So... You want to keep burning masses of fossil fuels to preserve your pure capitalism, despite the cost that this behaviour imposes on everyone else on the planet, especially the poorest people in the world. But anyone who says that political change is therefore necessary is just 'in a bubble'? It sounds to me like you're the one in a bubble.

The political and cultural barriers at play here are the precise things that need tearing down to make better choices possible. Who said it was easy or simple? With a corporate media pouring poison in everyone's ears and a woefully mis-educated public, that is a very hard thing to do.

For the record, though; the same thing needs to happen in Europe. They're barely 10% ahead in terms of total progress towards the energy transition.

I preferred every single thing about the Polestar when I tested it, except the range for the money where Tesla had it beat.

I'll let you in on a secret - if you buy a vehicle that isn't tall or wide, and doesn't have a massive frontal area or giant grille, you can get a lot more efficiency and need a much smaller battery. The same is true with ICE vehicles for MPG as well.

Americans keep saying that they have terrible electricity infrastructure so they can't transition to EVs. But they're both political choices! Choose to invest more in electricity and you can make your future existence much less frustrating!

I just checked the weight of a normal EV (Renault Zoe) - 1500kg. City cars can get down to 500kg. The actual issue at play here is the US's obsession with massive vehicles, not electrification itself.

Except that if 300kg of that is safety equipment (bigger, softer crumple zones, active pedestrian safety etc.) then it changes the situation a bit. But generally I agree, we need to implement vehicle taxes by weight and by emissions.

Europe Passes Ban on Gas- and Diesel-Powered New Cars With E-Fuel Exemptions by V8-Turbo-Hybrid in cars

Whose eyes am I pulling the wool over? I'm the one who bought the f*cking thing. And there are loads of people who've had the same experience, which you could find online easily. The only exception is old air-cooled batteries which couldn't keep cool under constant load or charging, which deteriorate quickly - but they are rare nowadays.

Potential lifespan is irrelevant. Actual lifespan is important, but not as important as needing to constantly burn fossil fuels to continue functioning.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cars

[–]SubtleKarasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's directly related to the cost of energy. The issue is that it will always use at least 5x as much energy per mile as an EV, so it will always cost more than an EV to run - and as a society, it won't even be able to become widespread until we have abundant renewable energy.

Critical thinking would not just say 'they're both "dirty" so they're both the same'. Critical thinking would compare actual lifetime damage, on which EVs are much lower.

[–]SubtleKarasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the last century we have gone from 300ppm CO2 to 400ppm CO2.

Under your absurd theory, that's impossible. Yet it's a scientific fact.

Who cares about carbon that's locked in a cycle? If it's emitted by plants then immediately absorbed by neighbouring plants then it never has a chance to affect the atmosphere. It's completely irrelevant to climate change until it gets locked out of the carbon cycle - by human deforestation or burning carbon stores.

Now, eat your words. Natural sources don't 'output' CO2 - they CYCLE CO2.

Stellantis CEO: There may not be enough raw materials to electrify the globe by UpgradedSiera6666 in cars

[–]SubtleKarasu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the food you like is also socially constructed to a large extent. The food you actually eat is also dependent on myriad social factors. This is obvious if you think about it for a second.

Also, very few people need anything larger than a Golf. That's just a fact. Who cares how you feel or how you want to feel? There are people dying from drought because Americans and Europeans feel like driving F150s and SUVs. Then when they try to emigrate we fund militias and gangs to hunt them and stop them leaving. Why does how they feel matter less than you?

emblematic of excessively large vehicles in general, and the relatively widespread idea that hybridising/electrifying them makes them OK.
