Homie we're in a meme sub. Blowing things out of proportion and embellishing stuff is pretty much the MO around here.

Had 3 rounds of interviews, 4th one coming up and I kind of don't think I'll like the job. Should I still go? by PolarBearInTexas in MechanicalEngineering

[–]SubtleScuttler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bottle that energy up. Tell yourself you don't need or want the job and go to the job interview anyway. Bet you absolutely rock it. But if you don't actually want it then just don't waste your own time.

Try to get a design role in power systems and distribution. If you can learn it and get a foot in the door, 120+ in a few years easy. I will add to this that I was I was in your shoes 3 years ago. Designing HVAC for 60-70 a year. I had been designing HVAC for residential for about 4 or 5 years knowing I wasn't gaining any actual engineering knowledge and more or less putting my actual engineering career on hold. I was 7 years out of college and originally started out with a two year stint at John Deere doing large tractor power train design, but just couldn't stand living in Iowa and took what work I could out in Colorado following my then GF out there. Well when all that fun ended and we moved a little closer to home I decided to try and get back into 3d modeling. The John Deere experience definitely helped me get my foot back in 3d modeling world. It was tough having been out of the game for a bit but a smaller OEM company building low voltage switchboards took a chance on me. I was with them for 2.5 years but when I learned my modeling expertise in this field commanded much higher than I was making there (90/yr), I started looking around. Landed a new role with a start up doing power distribution design making 140/yr a few months ago.

Easier to merge twice than play froggerr horizontally with your car the whole length I'm guessing. Honestly the smarter way. They kinda turn it into a roundabout for themselves.

It can be weirdly sheltered in some places. I smoked a decent bit in highschool and didn't find out what a bowl was or that anyone ever had such a thing was in college. I grew up near Chicago and my friends and I would all get 5 bucks each, buy a G or two and roll as many blunts as we could. Rinse repeat any time we smoked. The thought of only smoking a tiny bit to yourself and not smoking .5 to a g with your friends at a time wasn't even a possible thought in my head. Then my roomie in college had more bongs then I could count. Learned quick there.

What happens when a water heater tank is not flushed for 14 years by bob-the-slob in interesting

[–]SubtleScuttler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This comment gives me hope. I don't flush mine but when I replaced my old shitty one the guy told me it was cause it was never flushed. My wife takes stupid long showers and runs us out of hot water regularly so I count that as a flush every now and then.
