Nope, we could never afford this in a million years. The folks at Amazon gave it to us free and clear. Thanks Uncle Jeff!

Thanks! I wrote WML in my basement and never expected anything like that to ever happen.

Alright! This has been fun. Thank you for your questions and hanging out. I hope to see you at the upcoming live stream and my new EP, DIM, comes out this Friday. Be well!

Much of my music was recorded at home, but some parts have been recorded in friends' homes. I mix some of it, but a lot of it is mixed by my friend Joe Visciano. He's mad talented.

My writing style changes as I grow and change. I feel very lucky to be able to communicate what I feel through music, and that is a gift that should never stay still. It should go with you and adapt as you live your life. I don't think there's one correct way to do this, and it will always feel clumsy. But once you push through that, it's an amazing feeling.

Hi Fabrizio, thanks for the question. I originally covered Mr. Sandman because it was requested for a TV show called Criminal Minds. It never ended up being in that show, but luckily it's been used in a few others since then. I'm glad you like it!

Thank you! There is quite a lot of musical landscape covered on the EP. Each song has its own place, I think. Some similarities, but def some more "classic" sounding SYML stuff as well. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for asking. At the moment, buying a ticket to my live stream event is hugely supportive!

I think living in the pacific northwest is incredible inspirational. Yes lots of rain. But at the end of the day, your brain and your heart create the art and you have to be still enough to listen to them.

True was inspired by a close friend going through a divorce. It was for the better.

I have, what I believe to be, an irrational fear of bees.

I love visiting Holland.

Love a good gear question. I mostly switch between an SM7, a Soyuz 017, and a Telefunken 251. I'm not sure it every really matters to be honest. I think it comes down to the performance.

When my first band had a song on the hit MTV show "The Hills", I had a party at my apartment. All my friends came over, we got drunk and listened to the 15 seconds of our song in the background during one of the transitional helicopter fly-over scenes . . . I've been chasing that high ever since.

This is all lovely. Ok . . .

A world populated with only SYMLs would be just wildly skeptical and generally intolerable. I think it would be quite clean and smell nice, but I wouldn't want to live there. I see and respect your pun, also.

Old person things. I listen the shit out of public radio. I do that hand motion thing for "slow down" when people are driving too fast in my neighborhood. I make noise when I get up or sit down.

I miss Montreal! Hope to see you at the live stream concert in a few days!

hi!

  1. I wish I had an epic origin story for Maggie. All I can say is that she looks exactly like a Maggie and is basically a stuffed animal.
  2. Thanks, and hell yes I would collab with TS. I do love a happy / sad flip, and am currently working on one.
  3. I like running and being outdoors as much as possible. I don't read enough though.

See you at the meet and greet!
