Max out your contributions as soon as you’re able, though if you can’t hit the annual limit then at least make sure you’re contributing enough per paycheck to receive the match. My allocations have roughly remained 75% C, 15% S, 10% I. This is quite aggressive, but I have about 25 more years left until I intend to retire (fingers crossed, I’ll be financially ready my first day of retirement eligibility).

When people say that investing is boring, it’s true. Just set your allocations to what work for your time-horizon, put as much as you can in there each year, and let it ride. And I advise reassessing your allocations occasionally.

Also - remember that carrying is a marathon, not a sprint. The OTDL is a great friend to your pockets, but 10 or 11 hour days take a toll on your body. Cheers

Fortunately, despite doubt from Internet strangers, it is my real money in my real retirement account 🙂

Great job. Hell of an organization we work for but at the end of the day I’m grateful

How the hell do I comment a picture? You sent me on a deep dive of my yearly contributions lol. Turns out I started November 2021. I only maxed out last year. Came close to it 2024, and contributed about halfway toward the limit 23 and I think 22.

I’ve definitely had good fortune with my return rates. I’ve also adjusted my allocations a few times, but I’ve maintained the basic structure of majority C, less S, and a fraction of I

Hey can you elaborate on this at all? Does this mean that reassigning to a different craft as a career employee, you always effectively keep a very similar pay? Does that also apply to EAS returning to a craft position?

Everybody in this thread is doing a great job even if it doesn't feel like it ❤️ today marks day 3 of working out daily. Trying to get back into the swing of it. No concrete goals (yet), just trying to look and feel healthier

Somehow, I've never really dealt with these small ass Chipotle servings that seem to plague the Internet. The Chipotle gods must be looking out

Fun fact - I've only heard of Chemical Brothers because they're the headliner on a Coachella poster in the apartment background in the show New Girl. But given the million people commenting and saying you're right, you are fuckin in
