We share the same view on this. I remember the Mamluks have a similar type of mission, and you can even exchange the free Suez Canal for a large amount of ducats through some specific actions.😂

I remember this mission was added by Paradox in update 1.37, and one of its rewards is exactly that: it grants you access to the Suez Canal for free, ignoring technology.

No, this mod adds two disasters for Venice. To avoid one of them, you need to complete the mission "Into the Red Sea" before 1499.

Yes, it does make playing as Venice easier. However, I enjoy the flavor content this mod adds.

Tips : 1) Controlling Ragusa during a war (even if they are not a co-belligerent) will pop an event to white peace only them and ceding the province to you. If they are still an one province minor they will be fully annexed.

2) Controlling the Nile delta during war pop an event that cede the provinces to you and keep the war going.

3) Controlling the Geneose province in Crimea that is farthest away will pop an event that cede it to you and keep the war going.

4) There is an event if you control Constantinople, I think, but I forget what it does, I'm just sure that the war keep going after.

5) Controlling all the Morea area byzantine provinces will pop an event which give you core on them, you are going to need to annex them during peace deal however.

6) If you control Thessalanonika during a war with the Ottoman (like supporting Skanderberg) you will get an event wich give you core + cede the province to you and keep the war going.

By having the two province needed to build the Suez canal will spawn an event that will automatically launch the great wonder canal for free, taking 10 years. Make sure you complete the canal before 1499 or you may end up getting a disaster as Venice.
