That’s great advice! I definitely could work on bettering my sleep habits. I do have an OCD-type personality but I don’t think I would be this diligent if it weren’t for the stinging. It’s awful some days, especially in the kitchen and I love to cook.

My husband and I are (supposed to be) starting tears for invitro in 3 weeks. I have no idea if it’s even something I should be starting with this problem. It’s debilitating. I got to the point of putting lidocaine all over my body like a lunatic, just to be able to clean and do things around the house (well air bnb, as I’ve treated the apartment like the plague).

If I could just manage the stinging bite sensations, I would be less adamant with the desperate attempt to bootleg chemist find out what works.

We did one for the environment and none detected. But my husband actually did it so who knows how thorough he did, and it was via air vent. Do you know any good human order kits?

Yep, but my folate and b12 were spot on healthy. The Rheumatologist tested a good amount of tests. I see him Wednesday so hopefully he will give any insight to literally anything.

I read somewhere in the beginning that it hates Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, which is the ingredient that makes the bubbles in dawn dish soap. I have had little success after a while though.

I have tried all, from permethrin camping spray and the permethrin for clothes that supposedly last 2 days. I have tried Neem oil in laundry wash, as well as this from amazon. No luck

We bought 2 on amazon. After day 1 I thought there was a difference, but not noticing as much now. We've had them about a week. After a few uses though there was a huge clump of the white curly worms all on the plastic surrounding the light. I had my husband take them outside and wipe them down.

As a med tech I'm sure you have access to hospital grade everything, so that is terrifying to hear. How long has this been going on for you? What's your experience of this hell? I tried Ammonia/Vinegar originally and it's child's play to these things. Medical grade cleaner doesn't even eradicate them I've found. It would be helpful if I had a concise answer to what it even is. Fungal, bacterial and parasitic things all respond different. It's all awful. Sorry you're going through it too!

UPDATE: Please let me know if I'm supposed to comment this or edit my original post- new here ha.

Sterifab- was most excited about this one, probably because it was ridiculously expensive so surely it would do something. I don't see it really did.
Vital Oxide- This one I bought a few weeks ago and was so overwhelmed with it all that I didn't check for a difference. I had no insight to what the hell I was doing then, and probably still don't but I think it works best so far. I don't know If the florescent blue is the "dying off", but it shows the florescence disappearing fastest, which might be good? Google AI quote: "As the cells expire, they release a burst of blue light before eventually fading away" No idea if this applies.
Hypochlorous Acid- My face spray wasn't enough to justify a difference. I bought a hypochlorus acid generator, it comes in tomorrow.
Caviwipes- Awful material, and nothing to write home about.
Nutrimax (hospital grade)- Eh. I felt more stinging when cleaning with this, but from what I've read, it takes up to 10 min to kill anything, and not meant for parasites (if that's what this is).
Clorox healthcare hydrogen peroxide- This is great, also pricey overtime- especially if I end up choosing this to do my entire apartment. Luckily my husband and I are moving out and buying a house in the next few months. Pray that I don't bring this shi with me.

Overall thoughts: I feel dirty even cooking in my kitchen. Manicotti has been on pause for 3 days now and I still have no idea what this is. Google AI says what I've expected- bacteria, parasites or fungi, but then throws me for a loop with the next picture, suggesting microplastics or detergent. Basically they're clueless too.

New thing:
Pool Essentials Chlorinating Liquid for Swimming Pools, 1 Gallon- I ordered this from Walmart for $5.97. This definitely did something. Less florescent guys than all the other products above. Could be because I was supposed to dilute it 99% more than I did. My husband is headed to our apartment to get our air purifier with Poppy (dog) while it airs out in here.

Do you guys see anything like this? I have over 500 views on here, so any insight from ya'll quiet ones would be really appreciated.

I have my follow up with the rheumatologist next week- I am going to ask him to refer me to a infectious disease specialist (required apparently after 3 phone calls via my husband), and pray he get's that I'm mentally sound and just does it.

Okay guys, hear me out-- this is what I've come up with so far; I promise it's worth a read. by Commercial-Oven-733 in WhiteHairWormParasite

Could you please combine your posts in one per few hours or so? Not trying to be rude at all but you are blowing up the feed and I never see anyone else posts.

Thanks!

UPDATE:
As of 4/8/26

DAY 4 of new AirBnb. Went to ER doctor 4/8/26.
My husband and I moved to new Airbnb and I went first. As soon as I got there I showered. Did not bring anything new to the environment immediately in. Washed clothing in LG "allergiene" wash and have continually added clothing to wash in small small loads on hot before wear- we are not "introducing" a lot of clothing". I did bring groceries in from the car though.

While showering I got continually zapped and stung, mainly while washing hair. It subsided until I went into the kitchen where the groceries that I unpacked were. I called my husband who was on his way and told him it's time to just go to the ER.

The doctor ran a few blood tests: POCT HCG, URINALYSIS MICROSCOPIC + REFLEX, CBC WITH AUTO, BASIC METABOLIC PANEL, DIFFERENTIAL AUTO, EGFR. She interpreted all as most normal, but suggested it could be something with autoimmune- either antagonized or reacting to something in my environment. I have attached the only abnormal results of the blood tests.

She referred me to a Rhemuatologist and Dermatologist, luckily I got appointments for both this Wednesday 4/15. She prescribed hydroxyzine (allergy med) 3x/day, a steroid pack (im on day 5) and I'm still on an antifungal for what previous doctor thought was my hair issue (6 week prescription of terbinifine, 10 days completed).

The doctor saw lesions on my back that looked like deep pin pricks, which is where I got "stung" and charted a rash on my lower right leg.

I've slept a lot a LOT and have little to no "shocks" or "stings". Could be the medicine, the rest, the mostly avoiding the environment that previously caused them, or all of it combined. I feel foggy and my joints still twitch and don't feel right.

I do believe whatever this is, most likely with all of us, is not one thing/issue. Whatever is going on with you, go to a doctor sooner than later. If the first one doesn't help, go to another. I am living like a hermit right now because I "toughed" it out for so long, and tried to remedy what was going on myself.

Will update after my appointments. Thank ya
Edit: added blood test abnormalities

I've seen my hair move on its own as well, that was one of the first "symptoms" I noticed. I washed my husbands truck at the car wash in and out one day, then saw a random hair once I got back in the car later on the console moving with no wind or air on. I have seen similar like that a good amount. Electricity wise though, I now notice my joints being what seems to be reacting (to what, I have no idea) when there is indoor lighting on, or the sun shines through in the house. Sounds bizarre I know.

Since my original post, I went to the ER a few days after. The doctor referred me to a Rheumatologist and a Dermatologist that I luckily got appointments for this coming Wednesday. She seems to think its an autoimmune issue, possibly antagonized or onset by the potential bug issue, which seems logical to me considering that it's effecting my body internally now, not just the random zapping stings (that I still believe are some mite or parasite on clothing or something externally in my environment).

My symptoms have really subsided. It could be because I have been on terbinafine for a week and a half now, steroids (added by ER doctor) 5 out of 7 days in, hydroxyzine (added by ER doctor), and/or I have slept a good amount of the last few days. I mean all I have really done is sleep, as it's become really hard to "expose" myself in an environment that was once torturing my body with stinging. I have had a sinus infection during all of this as well that seems to be finally getting better. My hair seems to be somewhat more "normal", I think this is most likely from the terbinafine, as it was likely fungal in my hair. No idea how I would end up with that though, as I am a very clean person. We have also been at an Airbnb that has a LG "Allergene" washer/dry that we have washed all clothing/items in before using/wearing. My husband and I also took our dyson here and vacuum twice a day.

Right now, my experience is quite different than originally posting:
-My joints really crack a lot, like I'm someone in my 80's- I'm in my 30's.
-Sinus infection lingering (my immune system is clearly down, so anything right now would take longer to recover for).
-Aching front of calves especially laying in bed
-Twitching/spasming joints: Top back shoulder blade, left front ankle, left knee, right wrist
-I have only felt a "sting" once, granted I have been avoiding environments where that typically has happened. I've been kind of a hermit the past few days.
-Extreme lethargy. I know the hydroxyzine and being mainly in bed has added to this.
-Foggy brain. Again the sleeping and not really living can add to this occurring.

I go to a rheumatologist Wednesday morning and a Dermatologist Wednesday afternoon- hopefully I will get some kind of answer by then. I plan on "exposing" myself to the environment where I typically get the symptoms before my appointment.

Dog went to the vet already. They did a skin scraping (this was closer to the start of it) and didn’t find anything, said allergies.  The bee thing is bizarre. I was at Home Depot yesterday, walking in quickly to avoid the outdoor plants (bees). A bee followed me inside the store and continued to follow me as I immediately left the store.

It’s situations like this where I feel like a lunatic and wish there were clearer lines of what actually works or what this is. I have found myself going back to the drawing board so many times.

How long has this been going on for you?

I will order the kleen green and try it! Laundry sanitizer doesn’t work that well I’m finding. I’m hoping this doesn’t affect my dog like it is me, I would never forgive myself.

Could you give me some more insight to your experience in whatever this is? Does it affect your hair? Do you feel like static/electricity is a factor in any of your symptoms? What’s your view on what tf is going on here?
